The food was of good quality and that is the reason why I give this place 2 stars. On the other hand, the service at this place, to say the least, was lacking. It all started when I came inside to order my food from the cashier. I ordered my food and before I went to sit down she asked me if I wanted my receipt, to which I replied "no". It makes good business sense during the transaction to 1. to tell the customer the number in which they get their meal from the queue, she did not provide that 2. To ask the customer if they would like to dine-in or take-out their order, again she did not do that. so I sit down for about 10 minutes until I look up and see an order that looked to be mine on a tray in two baskets, and it was. It was out first time here. We mentioned that to the cashier. We didn't know how things worked. Instead of explaining or giving directions I had to ask every step of the way. It was a little disappointing. My mom has been fighting cancer for 10 months and has not been able to eat. She has been seeing commercials for this place and was excited to go as today was one of the days she had an appetite. The food was okay. We order the chicken fried steak special. The flavor wasn't bad. But the food temp was seemingly less than luke warm. I added okra for almost additional $3 to get a bowl containing about 10 small pieces. The restaurant was clean. Diner was nice and very roomy. It was decorated with baseball player photos and bats. We like baseball and thought the decor theme was neat. Ordering was easy and the girl who took our order at the counter was nice and helpful. My kids had burgers and chicken tenders, my husband had the chicken fried steak and I had the grilled chicken salad. I didn't hear complaints or compliments about food. My salad was just ok. The tea wasn't that great either and I'm a big TEA fan. I thought it being "chef salad" that it would have bacon and croutons but it didn't.
