I was on a crosscountry roadtrip and needed to fuel the long drive with breakfast. Our Airbnb host recommended this place and I am SO happy we went. The food was absolutely incredible and the El Tejavan staff were so kind. My jaw almost dropped to the floor after my first bite of chilaquiles here. Traveling through Amarillo, we decided to stop here for breakfast based on the positive reviews. However, our experience was far from satisfactory. The food was bland and unappetizing. To make matters worse, the service was incredibly slow, even though the restaurant was empty. We had lunch here. The atmosphere is clean and well lit. The waitress was great. She took our orders, and brought out drinks and food in a very timely manner. The fish ceviche was great. We ordered a combination plate of enchiladas & a taco, and a grilled skirt steak with shrimp. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic. They also appear to have a fairly well stocked bar.
