La Fiesta Grande — Restaurant in Amarillo

I'm saddened to give this place only three stars because the wait staff was excellent I don't remember her name but she was a hard worker respectful and a really good waitress.the wait staff there tends to be quick that you can have extra Buster's to help bring out food quickly. The only problem was my mother ordered a stuff for yano which I think took a little too long to cook which means that the recipe needs to be evaluated or found out a different way to cook it so it doesn't take over 20 minutes to get to our table. her plate in her dish was excellent I even had to buy it and it's something I would definitely order again except to be aware of the time frame of that plate. I ordered a poblano Burger which is technically a chili burger and in West Texas with panhandle so close to New Mexico it means a lot to understand what a chili burger is. I get a chili burger I expect to have a lot of Chili's on it there's very few Chili's kind of disappointed the meat was way overcooked and dry had a great flavor but dry. and the bread is not an ideal bread for Burger it broke apart and dissolved in my hands because the bread was not up to handling with the sauce veggies and the burger patty. I’ve been coming to this place since I was a little girl. And it’s always been so GOOD! But idk what has been going on these last few months but for some reason it’s always bad on Saturdays. Not sure if it’s management on duty or what but it’s never consistent. Went this past Saturday and our food was bland!! And Luke warm. So sad. And $60 is a lot for bland/luke warm food. (That’s not including a tip) Not to mention our server wasn’t very friendly and acted very annoyed we were even there. When we asked for anything he was very short. Sat in the bar area. And it was a really slow lunchtime. I get he was also bartending but he only had 2 customers sitting at his bar and was just standing around to begin with. Have had issues with this said server in the past. Really not trying to bash the business. But there is nowhere else to send this kind of review. The salsa with the chips tasted like watered down ketchup with a hint of heat. The chips were stale and some tasted like they had come off of plates with other food. We had shrimp tacos that smelled like someone left a dirty diaper on the table. The waitress made our drinks (no bartender) and obviously didn't really know what she was doing as they were heavily watered down and in one case flavoring was missing. This place has been going downhill for years but we thought we'd try again in case they had improved. We went during Saturday lunch and it should have been extremely busy but there were about 5 other tables with people so I guess we're not the only ones who have found it very disappointing.
