Donut Stop — Restaurant in Amarillo

The Donut Stop has been a part of my life since 1980 when a first worked for Jim Cates while in High School, on the weekends, and full time during the summers.

Spent seven years in the U.S. Army and every time I came home on leave, I had DS donuts every day! After leaving the service and moving home to Amarillo, they have remained a part of my life.

Reviewing this particular store, because the staff there is just wonderful. The ladies greet you with a smile, get to know their "regulars," and of course, the donuts are simply the best.

So, so good! When you get one straight from the oven you know you're gonna have a good day! I've always had good and friendly service but just an fyi, if you plan on ordering a couple dozen and with varying flavors (instead of just like one dozen chocolate and one dozen maple) take a minute and write it down for them...it'll save you frustration when you get to your house or job and they got it all wrong. First time trying Donut Stop as it hit my radar from FW Foodies group. I'm rarely in Amarillo but on my way out of Hereford I just had to go by one for the cherry donut. Of course, it was 12 when I got there and they were out but she suggested a bag of donut holes & a container of the cherry frosting. Perfect!
