Sumo Japanese Steakhouse — Restaurant in Amarillo

I'm only giving a 3-star rating based on the waiters services I didn't get his name but he was meticulous at doing his job.... He went above and beyond customer service. This is the only reason why I'm giving three stars.... So we were informed by a waiter that the house soup was going to be late so we waited about 20 minutes for the house soup but it was also to order on our own accord " we need extra time to look at the menu since it was our first visit,"..... When we did order it felt like we waited for an hour for Our food. Again the three stars are based on our waiter after our son dropped his full cup of Sprite on the floor the waiter came out made us feel comfortable and told us accidents happen clean it up and still continue to take care of us like we did nothing wrong. But based on food quality and time ... I paid for a meal that I didn't quite enjoy and again like it wasn't the waiter's fault it was based on time and...

This was my last favorite of Amarillos Japanese Steak Houses. I tried their Sushi, Fried Rice, Teppan Steak and shrimp, Eggrolls, soup and salad. I was not impressed with portion size of the entree or taste of anything. The fried rice was not good compared to any I have eaten in a restaurant, especially a Japanese Steak house. The ginger salad dressing needs work. No one in my group enjoyed it. You do get unlimited soup and salad and my kids really enjoyed the soup. The waitress seemed annoyed that we kept asking for more. She also seemed annoyed at everything else we did. They only serve Pepsi products and I'm not a Pepsi person. The egg rolls were good and their dipping sauce was good. They only gave us a couple of teaspoons of it. I'm sure we could have asked for more. Overall I would choose another...

They sat us in the darkest area of the restaurant! The soup was room temperature and had a weird taste to it. The service was probably the worst, seems like there was only one person for the whole restaurant. He passed by our table a couple of times without taking our order. I almost wanted to get up and leave, which after our experience, we probably should have. My husband finally had to get up and let the girl behind the counter that we were ready to order. I ordered the hibachi chicken with veggies extra sautéed and got the opposite. The food did not look appetizing at all! The only good thing about my food was the chicken. My husband did not enjoy his food either. He normally finishes his food but couldn’t get himself to eat it. This is the last time we will ever go there. Overall just...
