Our Chicken Guy AmCam experience on opening day.
Entered at 2:13pm Ordered at 2:38pm Received shake at 3:08pm Received food at 3:18pm Exited at 3:59pm
Two sandwich meals, hot š„ tenders and an Oreo shake š„¤. $38
The OG. Delicious! The Buffalo Mac n cheese. Bacon was good; Mac a bit dry; didn't really get much buffalo sauce. Overall alright. Fries are seasoned and yummy. Hot tenders were big and very seasoned with a dry rub packing heat. It was quite spicy for us! Thankfully the milkshake came in handy for the heat. We enjoyed the special sauce, garlic Parmesan and donkey sauces. They were sold out Chipotle ranch.
Inside was chill, didn't feel crowded even though at the tables filled up. Didn't feel cramped and chaotic like waiting and fighting for tables at innout or canes. That is until 3:45pm once the school kids arrived and filled in the space by queuing up.
The drive thru line was significantly long. They advised the wait for drive thru was longer upon arrival. The line was even longer snaking around the lot and out to the street when we left.
I say definitely go if you have time and want to hang out and socialize. Don't go alone or you'll be bored- didn't see cell charging access either. Avoid the drive thru, you'll just grow hangry.
They're kid friendly with a kids menu and high chairs, however there is no baby changing station in the all gender bathrooms.
My only complaint is the access to the restaurant and lack of baby changing table. The main entrance is facing south and directly blocked by the curb-enclosed drive thru line all around, so walking up to the restaurant from the parking spaces adjacent to the building and Walgreens is awkward. There is an accessibility ramp from the Broadway street sidewalk which then crosses the drive thru line to the main entrance. We had our baby stroller so we took that route, and we wouldn't be up for climbing the curb, stepping over the landscaping and crossing the drive thru line anyway for a direct beeline to the front door.
Apart from the weird location positioning, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend it. I was really looking forward to this opening since dreaming of trying it back when the Guy's Chance of a Lifetime show aired and finally have my craving satisfied.
And no, Guy Fieri...

Strange. Got there about 30 min before they closed. Wasn't really hungry, more curious. First off whoever designed this place broke some rules about how to orient a building. You cant see the front door from the parking lot and have to walk through the end of the drive through just to get in. I went in and out of the parking lot twice just to try and find the front only to realize it was deliberately done this way. Lol.
Then the drive through had cones at the entrance and a sign saying to wait there to keep the driveway clear? Like should I wait for someone to move the cone while I block traffic in the parking lot? Or did you close the drive through and put up the wrong sign? Also is that the driveway you refer to or by driveway do you mean drive through?
Ok, that was weird, but still determined I parked at walgreens and walked down the drive though exit to the front door š along with another confused guy in a truck who looked at me as if he was trying to see if I was as dumbfounded as himself. Upon entering the establishment (30 mins before close remind you) someone greeted us at the door and basically turned us around. O be fair, I didnt give her much of a chance to explain and just turned right around.
Whilst on this adventure, I must have seen at least 10-15 cars roll into the parking lot, circle around (some got out of the car) and then just leave after what I imagine was the same confusion I felt. Weirdness aside, it smelled like any other cheap fast-food joint. Can't comment on the food, but I probably won't come back to try it unless someone convinces me otherwise, especially in a town already flooded with good fried chicken.
Might be a good case study in a business class about how not to open a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecided to give the new Chicken Guy a try. Thankfully, the line and wait today was not atrocious. I already bought a sandwich from Safeway that I was craving and also intended to share with babe. I arrived and the line was from the counter to the door. Waited maybe 10-15min to order. Decided to start small and just got a 2 piece tender kids meal for $6.99 with seasoned fries and a rootbeer. The cup is recieved was about the size of a McDonald's medium. I also ordered the shredded cheese chicken eggrolls. The kids meal includes 1 sauce, I chose The Donkey sauce. Eggrolls come with Chipotle ranch & i added a side of Nashville hot honey for 50 cents. Total wait time approximately another 10-15min. (Sorry no food photos, but it was all so good!). The chicken tenders did not disappoint. They were not small or skinny, significant in size and flavor. They were perfectly seasoned in my opinion, but may be overly seasoned to someone who isn't used to so much dry flavor. The fries also were very well seasoned, but by the time I ate them were a tad soggy.. but it may have been 20 min or so from store to home to belly. The shredded cheese chicken eggrolls also did not disappoint. I love the fusion of flavors and the melty cheese in the eggroll wrap. And of the 3 sauces I chose, Nashville hot is my #1 so far.
Cons: No parking. Had to take up a space from Walgreens to walk in and be served. The lot is not big enough for all businesses. Drive thru was also closed. Price advertised for kids meal online and on in store menu board is $6.49, but was charged $6.99. Price for eggrolls online is $5.49, but in store is $6.49. &&& they highly advertise the app in store, but are currently not listed or findable in the app, so no mobile or online ordering, and you can't earn reward points from current purchases as the codes are not printed on the POS receipts at...
