First and foremost, customer service means everything to me. I've never eaten here before, but today, I had a taste for some bbq. I googled this business to read the reviews, and decided to give them a try. I called my order in, and the lady was very nice. I knew what I was going to get, but she let me know about their special as well, that I decided to go with. She also suggested the squash casserole, that was very delicious. After I placed my order, I left to go pick it up. I got there, and there was a lady standing out, ahead of me. The lady that waited on me was extremely nice, and this guy came out to give someone their order. As he passed me, he said " Hello and that he appreciated me for doing business with them." When he passed me to go back inside, I asked him if he was the owner, and he said he was. The hospitality alone, is the reason I gave a 5 rating. As for as the food, I had a leg quarter, chipped bbq, potatoe salad, and squash. I was waiting to smell that grilled smell in my vehicle, but never did. In fact, I didn't smell anything. I got to the office, and took my plate out the bag, and was somewhat disappointed that the chicken was baked, and not grilled. But, it was ok. The potatoe salad was a bit rich with whatever they use. They used too much on it. I didn't care much for it. Also, there was too much vinegar in the chipped bbq. It almost took my breath away. I will try them again, but I'm in no rush.
10/31/23 DISAPPOINTED once again. I only ate here again because I purchased a ticket from a grandmother helping her grandchild sell tickets for the school. I'm bot sure why this is a bbq restaurant. There's nothing bbq about the meat, but the sauce. I will not be eating here again. I'll just give a donation to a child rather than purchase a meal ticket and cook my own delicious ...
Read moreCan't say dislike but not impressed. Very friendly first time there came to Americus to fo some banking at Wells Fargo wanted grilled chicken. For the area a bit expensive and it wasn't that real smoke taste. Ken's in Cordele kills their chicken snd you get a half for $5 not $7 plus. Ken's needs no sauce i am not a Ken's employee. I am in fitness industry. Wouldn't go bk there for that chicken ! Just not that woody...
Read moreI had a pork sandwich, and the rib sandwich, with bake beans, and potato salad. The sandwiches were great, and full of good smoky flavor. I had them with their hot bbq sauce, which was fantastic.
The potato salad was out of this world! I don't know what it was about it, but in my opinion it was some of the best I ever had. The bake beans were a bit generic, but still good.
I highly recommend this...
