Been a frequent customer of Pizza Pit since they opened both at the restaurant when i worked on Campus, and after i retired. And, my parents order pizza from the Pit all the time. BUT, yesterday, my parents ordered a deluxe pizza through their answering system & asked to be called back to make sure that the order was received. No one called back, so my Father called back 10 min.later & left another message asking them to call back to confirm the order. No response AGAIN. So, i called back about the order & asked about it, & left his name & phone #. I EVEN CHECKED their website & it said THEY WERE OPEN!!! We usually order pizzas on Sunday at this time!!!! Since Pizza Pit usually takes 45 min.to deliver, we waited that long, and i called back again & left another message & ALSO SENT an email for the Ames Pizza Pit! After waiting another 15 min., we FINALLY GAVE UP, and went somewhere else for our lunch since we were extremely hungry! When i called the Manager today & gave him my name & told him i had been a LONG-TIME CUSTOMER (since they opened!), and that my parents only ate their pizza, we had ordered a large supreme pizza yesterday that never came! He explained that they werent open because he vouldnt get enough help, and so i told him, he should have changed his website then. He gave a lame excuse, INSTEAD of APOLOGIZING!!! This is POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE, especially for 2 separate customers who frequent his business ALOT!! A simple apology would have satisfied me, BUT his TOTAL LACK of SINCERITY was INAPPROPRIATE for a business owner! I use to own a small business in Ames, and I ALWAYS told my customers if there was anything i needed tomdo to IMPROVE my services, to please let me know so i could correct the situation AND make it up to them!!! Fortunately, i never had to rectify that, as i was always striving to offer TOP NOTCH Services & Products! In fact, my Business was voted the Best in Story County for 8 yrs. in my category until i retired. I feel this manager did NOT RESPOND APPROPRIATELY to a DISSATISFIED customer!!! Read moreMy wife and I really enjoy their pizza and the staff however, last night (SEPT 16, 2021), the staff, specifically the guy taking our order, the guy with a beard and the older guy, were not friendly at all, infact down right rude! We had to explain not two, not three, but four times, what we wanted on our pizza. Next I asked for the military discount. The guy at the register said he "didn't think" they had a military discount. I told him that we were given the discount the previous two times we were there. He didn't even ask who I think was the manager. When we went to a table I sat where I could see the staff working. The three guys that I mentioned above were all huddled around the table in the middle of the kitchen and staring at us. The reason I know this is because when I sat up erect and looked at them, they all went about their business. Additionally there was no "thank you" after placing our order nor a thank you from the guy at the register when we were leaving. Read moreI moved, and my apartment is in a new developement so the online ordering system wouldn't let me order delivery. I called instead. They told me they couldn't do a side salad without cheese because they are premade. I have ordered a salad this way from them multiple times. I mentioned that but didn't get a response. I didn't have enough food for the $14 minimum without that. Was really looking forward to some wings and a nice salad. Hadn't had them for awhile. I guess I'll be ordering from somewhere else. EDIT: Loren, I appreciate the response. It's been about 2 months so I thought I would give you all another try. Today is Wednesday Nov. 14. The guy was a lot nicer than last time but I basically got the same response. He said I could try picking it off and that they make them ahead of time to save time in case they get busy. I asked twice if there was a way to get one made with no cheese with no real response, just the explanation about them being premade. I told him nevermind and he did say "Ok, sorry."
