This place has gone completely downhill. A long time ago for years we enjoyed going there but the last few times the owner has been a terrible wretch. I will describe our last visit. We come in waiting to be seated I look at the salad bar… everything looks old like it’s been sitting out and no one has used it in a long time looks gross. This rude & mean woman either the owner or manager approaches us with a bad attitude and tries to seat us in a booth with bugs… (box cutter my kids later told me they saw them in the first booth) and I nicely ask for a booth a little further down past the counter area into the dining room, she gets an even nastier attitude and gives me a hard time about it stating it’s the same as the other one but I say clearly it’s not because the dividers are taller where I’m asking to sit (mind you it is not busy at all there were barely any customers). I go to sit down and the seat has a very large and uncomfortable dip in it, and I come to my senses and say I won’t spend my $80 + here after the way we were just treated by this nasty rude woman. So on the way out she says something to us and I let her know I won’t be spending my money here because of the bad way she treated us and instead of apologizing she again had an attitude and was like, oh that’s ok’ real snarky. We are done trying to give them chances. āœŒšŸ¼you lost several customers! And I will continue to tell people how bad of a place it is now. Learn to treat all people with dignity and respect. You and your place...

Update First time here for breakfast, and it's sad to say this place for breakfast is a joke! Me and my stepdaughter decided to grab a late breakfast after a morning of fishing. So since this location was close, we decided to stop in. I ordered the crab omelet and she the Italian omelet. According to the menu, the omelets come with homefries and toast. The food wasn't bad, service could have been better. When i got the bill, i noticed that the crab omelet which was listed as 9.99, on the bill was 11.24. I thought I might had misread the menu, but the menu did in fact state 9.99 for the crab omelet. Management thought they were slick by adding a charge for rye toast. No where on the menu did it say there was an upcharge for rye bread. I will advise anyone going there to double check your bill after your finished eating at this location. In my book, management is trying to rip off customers! Lost a customer for that!

The roaming trucker is here with my review of Michael's Family Restaurant. I will admit this is my second time here, and like last time, this place did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken croquettes, the wife eggplant parm. The portion size was larger than I was expecting. Seasoned properly, and cooked to perfection. The wife's eggplant parm was tasty, but did come out with some of the cheese not melted, but the eggplant wasn't soggy. Well worth the price. Would definitely...

The food was great with not an excessive wait time. The place looked clean and neat as well, but our waitress is the reason for the 3 stars. Her section she was working was not overly busy, and upon sitting she gave menus and asked if we wanted anything to drink? I asked for 2 coffees and a Orange Juice. She said she didn't believe they had orange juice she would check. She came back with 2 coffees and took our order, never advising they were out of orange juice. I asked about the juice and was then told they were out so I ordered Cranberry Juice. When our breakfast arrived she asked if we needed anything and we said salt, pepper, ketchup, sweet n low, etc. One of the orders came out wrong, ordered home fries, got hash browns. She took plate back and returned with right order, still no juice, so I had to ask for it.

She did check in with us 1x to see if all was well, then gave us our check, never asking if we would like anything else. Would of been 5 stars if the waitress would of actually been at work mentally as well...

Very good breakfast with fast service. The diner has a lot of seating and the pastries are a temptation as soon as you walk in. I had the Irish omelet with corn beef, peppers, onions and cheese. Good choice with a generous portion of home fries. Rye bread with butter comes with the plate. Served quickly and waitress was friendly. It was busy but she still took the time to stop by a few minutes after the food came out and ask if everything was ok. Very family friendly with people talking to you from other tables and a good atmosphere. Coffee was not strong so more of a medium roast. We got a little carafe so we could fill our own cups that worked out nicely. Would recomend and return for maybe a dinner one day. Portions were definitely ample so don't forget your appetite!

PLACE WAS PERFECT. Old 80's diner. Soup and salad bar was FRESH. I could not thank the staff enough for being as friendly as could be. Sandy was a great host and was very polite. Michael was very nice and welcomed us to the neighborhood. His wife Rose was very nice and made appt of jokes. Other then staff...THE FOOD!!!! HUGE portions like I got 5 huge chicken strips(see pictures below). I could not explain the soup, so thick and creamy. Cream of potato soup with saltines and corn bread. I got so full I couldn't enjoy the salad bar 😭. Open 24/7 and is very affortable. A 4 person meal cost $59. I COULD NOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW GOOD THIS PLACE WAS. Please come eat here and patron them often.

April 2025 Update: All the below is still accurate and valid, but I wanted to point out that they redecorated the interior with a more contemporary look. It's a bit of a darker look, but it's nice. I eat here every Saturday morning with my family. The staff is great. They get to know you by name if you stop in a few times, and they'll quickly pick up in what you like to order as well. While eating breakfast, the owner will walk around and make sure everything is to your liking. Being right on Rt. 422 makes getting in and out of the parking lot way as well. TL;DR: Friendly, Cozy, Easily Accessible, and not Overly Expensive.
