Costa Rica Restaurant — Restaurant in Anaheim

Being the only Costa Rican Restaurant in Los Angeles area, I was really looking forward to getting some great Costa Rican food. I am sorry to say that I was disappointed. I hope that people who visit to try Costa Rican food for the first time don’t leave thinking that our food is that lousy.

I wonder if the cooks are ticas or ticos? I say that because in Van Nuys there was a Costa Rican restaurant but the owner could not find Costa Ricans to go work for her and cook. She hired some non Costa Ricans and tried teaching them how to cook our food but it was not the same.

I also thought that the food was over priced. I think that the owner is relying on the fact the he/she has the only Costa Rican restaurant in town. If there were other Costa Rican restaurants they would have to up their game or close. Lastima!

As a Costa Rican every time some one ask if there is a Costa Rican restaurant around I say no, because this is not a good representation of our culture, they charge to come in what it seems to be different amounts every time, I've never been charged to go in to a restaurant, the food is a lazy excuse of tico food. Seems like who ever owns this place is stuck in the past, there is a tired old people environment, or they haven't visit Costa Rica in a long time cuz the level of service and beautiful modern restaurants they are in our contry they can draw inspiration from are many. I honestly don't think the owners are even Costa Rican. And I'm ashamed to even mention this place around, I prefer to cook for my friends, and play new amazing Costa Rican Music...

I went with a group of friends,we were excited, but turned out we had the worst experience ever. We were charged $20 cover, plus $10 to get in. We were told that if we wanted to stay we should buy food.. The lady @ the front desk said that we will be given the cover back if we buy food. We trusted her, but when we were leaving we asked for the $20 cover. She refused and the security guard asked us to leave. We didn't want to cause trouble, but this place is horrible. I would believe only low lives go to this place. Our dinner including tax was about $70 per person. Food was terrible, cold and a bottle of water was about $6. Plus they have only one server..
