I used to love coming to this place, but so many things seem to have changed. Customer service would be the first one. We were seated outside which was different, but not terrible. The waitress asked for my order, corned beef eggs benedict, but I was still in the middle of telling her how I wanted it when she quickly interrupted me hurrying through the side options that come with it. I continued to tell her what I wanted, extra crispy hash browns with bell peppers and onions on top, to which she quickly and rudely said it would take longer. I was a little taken back, but said ok and left it alone. Once the meal arrived, I immediately noticed there were no onions or bell peppers on my hash browns and there was an unusual amount of hollandaise sauce on top of the eggs. I was irritated, but again just left it alone. I proceeded to eat my meal, but once I got to the eggs I noticed they were not soft and runny like an eggs benedict, but like a HARD BOILED EGG. Getting more irritated, I just continued to eat around it....that was until I found a HUGE eggshell covered by the hollandaise!! I had had it by that point and immediately told my server. Her response? "Ok, What do you want me to do about it?" Uhhh why are you asking me!? Clearly this meal NEVER should have been served to a customer. She tried to take my plate to show the kitchen, but I wanted to take pictures first. So I told her not yet. She asked if I wanted the meal remade, but it was already pretty far into our meal at that point, so I said no. Here's the most infuriating part. She calls her manager, who is not at the restaurant, and comes back to tell me that they will give me 30% off since I ate some of it. Completely unacceptable. After I told her how unacceptable this whole experience was, the waitress tried to say that she would take the rest out of her pay check. Obviously , I didn't see it as right for her to do so and told her no. After going back and forth with her a while, she FINALLY took it off our bill. The whole experience put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I absolutely hate having to confront someone like that, but there were just so many things wrong with it and that HUGE eggshell was the breaking point. It was so awkward for everyone. I used to love this place...but after this...it's just too hard to overlook the way I was treated...and...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and it's location here in West Anaheim. From the moment you walk through the door you are met with the most delicious aroma of food cooking and as you look on to the dining room all you see are happy faces enjoying their every bite. Both times I have visited I have been greeted almost immediately and given a table right away. I must say both times have been during the week a Thursday and Friday morning and the place was definitely close to capacity I would day 80% full so I can imagine on the weekends you can expect a bit of a wait for a table. Now on to talk about the food. I wasn't expecting anything in particular but I got to say what a wonderful surprise from presentation to taste one of the best breakfast places this area has to offer. Everything is very delicious and the menu accommodates with a few dishes those who prefer to eat a little healthier and not the traditional hearty meal like eggs Benedict etc... my one complain I will make was the consistency was not there unfortunately although both times delicious the hashbrowns for example were completely different texture each time I visited. I will give this restaurant a 5 stars if it wasn't for the inconsistency, the service is good and attentive but a little rushed due to a crowded dining room I am not sure if they are just overwhelmed and in need of more staff or the staff is just wired on coffee. In addition I will have to add the star taken off was also based on ventilation unfortunately both times I visited my clothes end up smelling completely like food. So if you plan to eat here and go to work or a business meeting after know you will most likely have to change. The upside of that while in the dining room you love the smell of such delicious food. All in all a great place to come check out. Come visit and enjoy all this place...
Read moreSlow service, long waits, and bizarre seating arrangements all point the finger at poor management.
We came here as a group of six for Sunday brunch since Yelp had rave reviews about the food here and the pictures looked enticing. We arrived and were told 45-minute wait, geez. We stuck it out and probably we waited for a solid 25 minutes and then were seated thankfully.
Inside, the restaurant seats about half as many people as it could if a proper interior designer were hired and booths and partitions were installed. As it stands now, the interior is one big, open room with tables widely spaced in the center awkwardly and booths on the perimeter. [D]
Our service was solid [F] as we waited for ages to put in our order. After ordering, our food did not come out for a long time - at least 20 minutes. But the food arrived bizarrely: two people were served their meals in 6-minute intervals. So by the time all six of us had our food, some were almost done eating. Really, what the hell. Then, once finished with plates cleared, no one ever came by with our check. Another 20 minutes passed before we had to stand up, find a server, and just handed them our credit cards. Absolutely terrible service.
My food at least was very good, but not a level that would ever be able to make up for the experience. I ordered the pulled pork breakfast "burger" that had egg and tomatillo salsa. It was appetizingly named "Green Eggs and Ham." It was messy, but the pulled pork was actually very good at a level I would never expect: succulent, fatty, rich, wet. [A]
So if you see a big line out the door, it isn't because the food is so good. It's because the management and servers are...
