Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the room was spacious with a balcony and didn't have any issues with checking in or the room itself, and it was 10-12 min from Disney. Few issues I had with this place: Booked through AirBnb, let them know I would have a pet with me. They informed me through AirBnB that it would be $25/night for each pet. They charged me $50/night for having the pet. (still waiting on my refund, there) On top of that fee, plus resort, cleaning and all the other stupid fees, because there was DOG HAIR left behind, they kept $40 from my security deposit, saying it's "damages". In what world is dog hair that you can simply vacuum or wash considered damage? They tried to tell me they had to close the room for the night because they couldn't rent it out. Considering they weren't remotely full, sounds like a load of BS to me. If dog hair is considered "damage", then don't allow dogs. We were told when we checked in there was breakfast offered. When we went to get breakfast the following morning, we found it is merely a coffee bar with free gross Folgers coffee. No breakfast in sight, minus bars and snacks for purchase. The rooms smell and you can hear everything going on in rooms above or next to you. Could be it's an old building.. but still not ideal if you're staying there for a few nights or longer. The area is sketch. Not necessarily the hotels fault, but lots of homeless people everywhere. Parking spaces are limited and TINY. Driving an SUV is...
Read moreMy two young children, made an incredible journey from southern Idaho, to Anaheim, CA in hopes of seeing a famous mouse and a princess castle. We arranged lodging at the Hotel Pepper Tree, because of it's proximity to the beautiful Huntington Beach, and many theme parks. As we arrived into the vaulted lobby, we were met with welcoming smiles accompanied by a quick, accurate, and informative check in process. We entered our suite to find unexpected comfort and subtle luxury. The amenities such as an onsite pool, access to hot chocolate 24 hours a day, and the friendliest staff in southern California, made me feel as if I had found a hidden gem. The rooms are comfortable, with a large glass windowed patio, soft and CLEAN beds, and kitchenette for simple meal prep. Our stay was a success, and our vacation enjoyed completely. The real value of this hotel, came after check out. 16 hours of battling L.A. freeways, the majestic Mojave desert, and the doldrums of Nevada to navigate to home came with the realization from a crushed 6 year old. She had left her favorite ball cap on the bed. When I attempted to call the hotel, to my surprise, they had already contacted me. I hurriedly made a connection, to confirm my mailing address, and the front desk attendant promptly returned a little girl's most prized possession. There can not be a better example of hospitality and care for guests. Thank you! IF you're traveling to Anaheim, and don't stay at this hotel, you've made a huge mistake. 10/10 will return, not for the theme parks, or beach views, but to treated so wonderfully anytime I'm in...
Read moreEdit 2: The hotel manager called my wife and apologized to her, and rectified the situation. We'll be staying there again when we go to Disneyland with our kids.
Just checked out. My wife and I always travel with a set of backup contact lenses. Someone in the cleaning crew threw away 3 of the 4 that we had. They were in unopened packages sitting on the sink with our toothbrushes and other toiletries.
We complained to the front desk and were told that the cleaning crews have set standards and that we shouldn't have thrown them away, which is a bunch of bull, we didn't throw them away.
We stayed here last year and they used to have the free breakfast in the restaurant next door and there was a variety of choices. Now the "breakfast" is in a tiny room by the front desk and consists of fruit and 3 pre-packaged options, nothing fresh even, and coffee. They don't even have orange juice available.
We will never stay here again. I would not recommend it even with the cheap price. Even with the downgraded breakfast we thought about coming back again in October with the kids when we go to Disneyland, because of how cheap it is, but we're going to try somewhere else where the staff might actually pretend to care. It'll be worth a few extra dollars.
Edit: The hotel has responded to this review saying they are sorry - they AREN'T. If they were sorry they would fix the problem. Contacts aren't cheap. Instead they offer empty apologies. We haven't received as much as a phone call apologizing for the way management...
