Honest Review Hidden Charges & Unethical Billing Practices
I visited Nara Bistro on February 7th, 2025, with a friend for a simple night out ordered one apple hookah, one kunafa, and a small pot of green tea. The tea pot itself costs $9.69, which reasonably should include basic accompaniments like honey or lemon. However, when checking out, I noticed extra charges:
• $1.49 EACH for honey (x2) • $1.49 for a few lemon slices
This was never mentioned upfront, nor did we request additional honey or lemon beyond what should reasonably come with the tea. The cashier, CoCo, deliberately added extra charges, inflating the bill unnecessarily.
This business lacks transparency and ethics, adding hidden fees without informing customers. If they can do this over small items like tea, who knows what else they are overcharging for? Check your receipts carefully before paying!
I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they change their practices. Customers deserve honesty, not sneaky upcharges. ore placing the order.
After receiving a response from the owner, Eric Adel, I took the time to thoroughly review Nara Bistro’s complete menu on Google, as well as the menu provided during the visit. Nowhere is it stated that there is an extra charge for honey or lemon when ordering a teapot.
Transparency in pricing is crucial for a positive dining experience. If an establishment chooses to charge for basic additions like honey or lemon, it should be clearly stated on the menu or communicated at the time of ordering. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
This review is meant to spread awareness for customers who expect upfront clarity in pricing. Nara Bistro should consider updating their menu or informing guests beforehand to avoid confusion...

Lots of tile everywhere that's the same.. benches and tables made from the same tile (must have been a bulk discount) Some of it is cracked on the table. Lots of fake plants inside. Overall, decent for a hookah place but also overpriced. I ordered a coke, (3.79) and we got can with a straw. No glass, no ice. Ice tea comes in a truck stop foam cup and 2 tea bags. ($5.00) Ordered a hookah...They automatically upgrade you to an apple bowl for an extra 7 bucks. Total $26 for a hookah with a disposable hose. Chicken kabob was tasty but a little burt. .there was live music and it was busy, so we had to wait about 20-25 min for hummus and a chicken wrap. At the end when you pay your bill the server brings the payment machine and stares at you to see how much tip will be added....
