I called on Sunday "Mothers Day " to order food for my family. I had to work all day the last thing I wanted was to cook. I called Wood Ranch BBQ and was informed they could not take my order until after 7pm. I called at 6:41pm. I asked the lady if I could just give her my order now and they could start the order after 7pm. She replied "No" ok so if I decide to call back in 19 min you can take my order. Come on have better customer service than that. Now I have 19 min to decide where else I may oder from. Makes no sense Mothers Day is not an official holiday.
Update- I decided to drive to the restaurant to order in person since I had never ate there and I figured since they are not taking phone orders until after 7pm I had time to drive to the restaurant. I arrived to the restaurant at 7:18pm. There were 3 seperate people walking out of the take out side with there large orders. I thought that was strange due to the fact when I called at 6:41pm, I was told they were not taking phone orders until after 7pm. When I got inside there were 2-3 tables set up with to go orders that had not been picked up yet approximately 10-12 orders. So I guess they were taking orders before 7pm over the phone. I ordered my food so I hope the food is better than the customer service and false info I received over the phone.
Update - I go back into the restaurant 30 min later, my food was just coming out. They conventily tied all of the bags so I could not see if all my items to double check it. I asked the lady at the counter to open the bags. Thus restaurant packages items seperate catering style. So all of my baked potatoes were packaged in one container. So now when I get home. I have to dish all food onto a plate then eat. I was offered utensils but no plates. If you run a restaurant please understand people who order out do not want to go home and put there food on a plate. Buy larger containers so everything fits. Fail, Fail, Fail in my book. Hopefully the food is worth all...
Read moreWe were supposed to meet my family at Olive Garden and on the way there we got a call that plans had changed and we would be going to Wood Ranch Bbq instead. We had never heard of it. Just because of the change it made me grumpy and I wasn't feeling like I wanted to like it. Typical hangry behaviour! It was packed inside on a Sunday evening but it was during winter holiday just after Christmas. We had to split our party into 2 booths back to back which worked out fine. We walked in with 10 people. Service was good and our waitress was attentive especially given how crowded it was. The food was really yummy. It wasn't typical bbq style like all smokey and barbeque saucy. It was properly grilled with really savory flavors. My sister is gluten free, corn free and soy free and had no trouble ordering. We sampled a lot and everything was pretty amazing from the farmhouse salad and burgers to the trout and French fries! I had the chicken tortilla soup and it was the best I've ever had. Everyone tried it and agreed!! Kids menus were provided too. Price is a little higher for a family dinner out but then again it is a steakhouse. The prices are comparable to any similar type of steakhouse. AND, had been prepared for Olive Garden pricing. My sister paid $100 for her and her 2 teenage kids which was 2 steaks and the trout. For the other 7 of us the price was $140 not too bad but 2 were kids meals and I just had the soup. We did not order anything extra or ala carte except the 2 grandmothers each had a glass of wine. If you plan for the expense...it is...
Read moreMy family just likes to pick this up when we want decent BBQ, no hassle, and picked up. Considering everyone's schedule and worklife, we haven't sat down here since 2019, so I honestly can't tell you anything about the current staffing, quality, and ambience. But I can tell you a lot about online.
You will never have cold food unless you missed your time window. Always hot and fresh and never skimping on utensils either. Your car is going to smell like hot parsley and garlic, take that as you will.
Humor aside, food has been very reliable but I'd actually agure the price is becoming difficult to wager since this isn't like a smaller brand of BBQ where your bang for your buck is in a different rationale. I sort of wince on check out considering the bulk of your meals value (for you in taste and filling) actually comes from the carb heavy sides which compliment the meal. In other words, I actually think their salads, Mac c' cheese, and massive loaded potatoes to easily be the hilight over the chicken and even brisket.
So why go here? It's reliable, but it's that "good reliable" in that the (at least online) service is great, you'll always have something you'll actually love on the menu, and it's consistent because of that wider presence as a So Cal chain. You'll still have for little food coma, I assure you.
My strongest advice is the Asian salad, bright, amazing vinaigrette, always fresh, and as a very hesitant eater, this was...
