Their app to order to go is bad. It’ll show items are available then when you get your bowl half your ingredients are missing. I mean is that really fair that I pay $14 or so for something so incomplete? Recently it was just protein, lettuce, only 2 of 3 dips, garlic sauce and a small amount of tomato cucumber when I ordered about 5 other things.. is that ethical for a business to do? Plus they don’t compensate you for whatever is missing. That’s why I only go here when the other restaurants are closed since they’re open later. But just so you know, they run out of a lot of things early (like 2 hours before closing) so it’s not even worth it for us alot of the time. It’d be nice if they planned better so they’d have most of not all the ingredients available.
They also need to reevaluate how they pack their pita to go. It gave me food poisoning because the top is left wide open and the top of the pita, in my case it might not be true for others, touched dirty surfaces around it. The pita usually sticks out the top and depending on who packed the order has even fallen out a few times. Maybe they can make the bag larger than the pita or train employees to seal it.
This used to be one of the better options not only because it tastes decent but because they used to have an excellent nutritional calculator so you knew your macros and could build a healthy meal from there. With the website redesign the nutrition calculator is now gone but I still needed it so I can watch my salt and fat intake. I won’t be coming here much anymore because now I don’t know what I’m eating and their food can be so salty. It just doesn’t make sense since their customers are probably more health conscious. They also aren’t as generous with ingredients as they used to be especially with salad and they mess up orders regularly. Prices have gone up quite a bit and they not only eliminated a topping or two (and coincidentally replaced them with high salt pickles) I used to love but also started up charging for some dips and spreads when they didn’t before. Their prices are now just a few dollars less for orders (at least what I get and I change it up) than a sit down restaurant so going to a nicer restaurant might be a better value in some cases. The last few visits the bowls looked sloppy with wilted vegetables. On the upside, the staff is...
Read moreI hope the manager of this location oversees their overall lazy and incompetent employees better. I ordered a bowl and it was only about half full with a few items missing even though I saw them available. My chicken was cold, had a weird texture and so undercooked it looked raw — I immediately spit it out and refused to eat the rest as that’s a huge health hazard. The falafel has always been undercooked in the center when I get it so it’s mushy and unappetizing. The employees seem to rip me off and cheat me with small portion sizes, missing items and now inedible protein regularly here (unlike other locations).
I’m done wasting money here especially with the abundance of options in Orange County. Every once in a while I luck out and get a full, well executed and good bowl but that’s so rare (maybe 3 times in about 4 years) I remember now why I stopped coming here for a long time and will stop coming here from now on once again. I really shouldn’t have to wonder if my order will be done correctly and if the protein will be cooked properly. My friends and family say the same thing about the inconsistency here and no longer come here either.
Also how they pack pita is unsanitary and the wrapper is too small. It easily shifts up through the open top and touches things around it which is gross. At times our pita has slid out completely and had to be thrown away. I don’t know why this restaurant...
Read moreWe have eaten at cava many many times, but this is the first time we have ordered online. It took three tries to order because their app sucks so bad. Because I’m sick, my son is sick and my wife had surgery a week ago, we didn’t feel like eating at the restaurant. So we get home and I open my bowl and this is what it looks like. For $13?!!! My wife and I couldn’t even believe that somebody made this, package it up, and put it in a bag, and they were OK with it. My wife got on the phone instantly and complained and shared half of hers with me, even though her bowl was small as well. For spending $38 you would expect a little bit more than this. The manager did offer to have us come back down and they would remake our bowls but who wants to do that? We shouldn’t have to be in the restaurant, watching them as they’re making the bowls for the bowls to be acceptable. She told him no. Then he told her we could go onto their site and request a refund. We will see if we get that refund. That will determine if we ever go back to cava.
We just ate here again 5/10/24, and it will be the last. The place is filthy. The table was sticky, the drink area was gross, looked like someone threw a soda on the windows, and the doors haven’t been cleaned in a while. The manager really needs...
