First of all, I don't take leaving a negative review lightly. I placed my order over the phone at 5:10pm 5/5/2020. I ordered one Half Sausage/Half Pepperoni and 1 large Pizza. I was told it would be 50 minutes until it's ready. I showed up at 6pm. There was one other person waiting on his pizza, he received it and left about 10 minutes after I arrived. Now, I hadn't even been acknowledged yet by the lady working the front counter. So, in the mean time a couple of other people walked in and waited patiently. Finally, after being there 15-20 minutes she asked us about our orders. I told her my order and she said it's not ready. I asked her when it would be ready and she said she hasn't checked yet, but she had just told me she checked and it wasn't ready. Anyways, several people come and go with their orders. At 6:35 pm she comes back and tells me my order is next pizza out. So, 10 minutes later one of the guys waiting gets his pizza and he wishes me good luck. Finally, at 7:05pm my order is ready. 2hrs and 5 minutes after ordering, 1hr and 5 minutes waiting inside. The lady didn't have the gumption to bring it out herself she had the kid bring it out from the back. He immediately apologizes about the pizza because there was a mistake. Half and half wasn't made correctly, because the whole pizza was both toppings. No big deal I told him. Then I pop open the lid for the large cheese and it's clearly burnt. By this time a couple of other customers starts heckling them, because they had seen what was going on couldn't believe they were going to charge me 50 bucks for my order. They offered 2 dollars off for the pizza they screwed up, the large pizza they burnt and the 2hr wait. Nobody there could believe it. I kindly told them to keep the large cheese and I'll never be going back to...

I've been loving Art's pizza as long as I can remember and I am in my seventies. That should tell you something about this iconic place. Ask anyone from Anderson, Indiana, and they will tell you good things about Art's. Their pizza is superior to any other pizza I've ever tried throughout the Midwest, including Chicago! My favorite is pepperoni, extra cheese and green olives. Art's is one of the few places that has both black and green olives. I'd like to try the spaghetti and meatballs sometime but I love the pizza too much--and the Italian roast beef sandwiches--oh my! Technically, it's not so much a sandwich as a full meal. Huge, and I mean humongous with maybe a pound or more of juicy roast beef with Italian seasonings, plenty of au jus and a great big slice of green pepper, or as they say in Anderson--"mango." It's quite messy but worth it. Service is very friendly. They will even bring your pizza out to your car and take your payment there if you're elderly or handicapped. How many restaurants will do that? If you're ever in Anderson, stop by Art's. If you live in Anderson, you already know what I'm...

This places needs to just be closed.

Ordered an arts roast beef. I told when i call about it that they were out of it. Said that would have been nice to know when i ordered. But since i didn’t specify ask for “mango” so i wasnt told that. Im not sure why when an ingredient is listed on the menu that you need to ask for it. Yet instead of fixing it she said i had to have the WHOLE sandwich then she would replace it. Like i took one bite. Hints how i knew they werent on it. But they dont do refunds so i guess im just out of $11. Dont go here. That was completely uncalled for.

Added: it wasn’t just about the mango! It was how the person i spoke was absolutely rude. Mango isnt a reason to go out of business. How ever, those “big restaurants do give refunds”, and aren’t disrespectful. Own the mistake and the fact that you were wrong for how you all handled it. Thats all.

Seems like your 1 star reviews are growing. You gus use to be the best place in anderson to get pizza. Thats...

One on 29th and Main. Went at noon. 3-9-24 No diet drinks. Had a small selection of drinks-bathroom was out of order-freezing cold inside. Got a 12 in pizza and it was brunt on the bottom and the crust. The poor girl was all by herself and doing the best she could. That place has been in the same location for 49yrs. Will go to Satterfield or Broadway. Will not return to 29th & Main. Plates were very thin Styrofoam. When you would cut your pizza with the plastic knife-well you cut into your plate. Think they just run on a shoe string. If it is broke-they do not fix it. This is a shame. Art's is a staple in Anderson. Was raised on Art's pizza and roast beef sandwiches. Brought some home.
