Empire Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Anderson

Do not eat here. If you order a dish where the chicken is battered/fried/deep fried etc it will be inedible. Case in point I ordered the General Tso's chicken and the "chicken" was inedible and I'm sure I was eating mostly deep fried breading. If you are just craving bad chinese then go for something like kung pao chicken where the chicken is not fried, battered then fried, or deep fried. Even then the levels of soy being used is unnecessary. The sauce on the kung pao chicken was a dark brown which just screamed too much soy. Finally I am not sure why so many of the local mom & pop chinese restaurants give such poor quality offerings. I'm all for giving to local mom and pop places to help them keep up with the big chain places but the quality has to be the same and its not. And this place keeps increasing its prices which offering really poor quality dishes. That is just a recipe for not staying...

I ordered the General Tso chicken and it was absolutely the most disgusting general tso I’ve tasted in my entire life. It was so hard you could barely eat it , the pieces that weren’t hard they were so over cooked and chewy that you couldn’t even chew it enough to swallow it…..It almost tasted like it was cooked two days before. I also ordered the house soup, that had no seasoning it just tasted like they threw some veggies in a cup of water. Hands down the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I wouldn’t recommend this place….. this is the second time I’ve ordered from here and each time...

The food was excellent! The owners were very kind, and there were a consistent stream of regular customers who knew the owners and their children which let's me know that Empire Chinese restaurant is the place to go in Anderson for good food! I ordered general tsos chicken and it was a good sized helping! They don't have tap water however, so be prepared to bring a drink of your own or pay for water. I plan on going here exclusively for Chinese food in the future! Ive been looking for a good place after I moved from Charleston and this place hits all...
