Very disappointed coming to this restaurant this time. The food was great but the waitress was one of the worst I've ever had. When she sat us she got our drink order then the people sitting behind us. The people had been there way longer then we were.
When she brought the food she dropped it off and left. Never gave a change to ask for ketchup or ranch. When she came by with another group, we waited for her not to be busy to try and get her attention but as my boyfriend called to get her attention she walked right past us. She never came to check on us the whole time we were there.
We noticed she had a ear bud in so she maybe couldn't hear us when we called for her, or she wasn't paying attention as she played on her phone or stood behind the counter to talk with her coworkers.
I finally got up and asked another waitress for some ranch and she was amazing and brought it to us and was very respectful.
Our waitress did come by to drop off the check at some point but quickly walked away and checked on the table next to us. I would have talked to the manager but he was also a bit busy playing on his phone.
All in all I probably will never go back to Vittles because of the poor service. I take a lot of pride and respect in a good wait staff and am a very respectful person. Even through this whole experience I kept my opinions to myself. But take it as is, this was the worst experience at this restaurant I...
Read moreThis is one of 3 times i felt the need to write a review. Let me start by saying the waitress, ice tea, and biscuit were great. The quality of the meals were sub par. I had the Chicken fried steak eggs and hash browns. The eggs and hash browns were as expected but the Chicken fry and gravy is just run of the mill processed food you can gat anywhere. I was fooled by the ability to order 1/2 or 1/4 serving. My son ordered the Ribeye. I have warned him many times to not expect my level of Ribeye from a diner. This was really bad, when it came out it was not 20oz, it looked more like a chuck roast sliced 3/4, and was not mid rare, more like mid well. He said the meat tasted like cow manure smells and it was a bit gamey and unseasoned. My wife ordered the "thick cut" Meatloaf and it came as two 1/2 inch slices, no brown gravy and as she said was mostly bread crumbs. The mixed vegetables were not cooked fresh either. If you are ok with fast diner food go for it, but it was like $70ish dollars for 3 of us. We had to complain about the ribeye because I feel some skullduggery is going on there so she took it of the ticked. But the biscuit was really good, just like i make at home for special occasion when I make chicken fry and sausage gravy from scratch. Also there is a huge HELP WANTED sign in front so this might be part of...
Read moreWe were sat quickly in the back room, served drinks, then waited for over half an hour before giving up and leaving. They were not busy, they had plenty of staff, and yet we waited for nearly an hour with our menus, never getting asked what we wanted, no refills, no anything. I am severely disappointed in this place. For a place so beloved by it's community, so highly regarded and suggested to us by friends... I'm just disgusted.
I've given them two stars as the place is lovely, it's very clean, and the people were friendly... Just absent.
We left five bucks for my soda and her water, got up and left. I suppose Sunday Brunch will have to take place somewhere else, somewhere with better service, perhaps McDonalds... Unbelievable...
I'll be sharing this experience on my social media accounts. The only good part is I got a good 10 minute video of us trying to make noise and be noticed. Tapping cups, whitening a tune, singing, laughing out loud, stacking things at the table, really funny stuff.
All in all, severely, extremely, unfathomably disappointed. I've been to filthy, awful places with perfect service. The Service is THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ANY...
