I KNOW Taco Villa (you can see my ratings for proof) as I grew up in "Taco Villa Country." We were traveling and I had Googled Taco Villa locations as I thought we were going thru Odessa. Turns out we didn't but shockingly we stopped for gas in Andrews and happened to see the Taco Villa sign. Peculiarly Google didn't list this location. We were excited. I say we 'were.' I noticed the sign had Texas Burger. I'd never seen that before (or a Texas Burger). Turns out this is the ONLY location with a Texas Burger. You know what they say about hindsight......we should've tried the TX Burger instead of Taco Villa. ☹️
When you enter the restaurant is noticeably different than other Taco Villa locations. It's more local decorated re: the mural for the sports team. Nicer art on the walls too. The restaurant itself looks nice. I'd never seen ice cream at a Taco Villa lol. Walked up to the counter where 2 employees were standing talking to each other at the register. We stood there and they just stood there staring at us. WTH?? I tried to make conversation saying we were surprised to see the restaurant. The girl looked at me like I was from another planet. Then she looked to the employee next to her. He said "What? Why are you staring at me?" Fortunately another employee came to the register and asked if we wanted to order. While I was ordering my Son asked Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum if they were taking orders. Yup. I reckon they just didn't want to wait on me. SMH.
Normally we order Taco Burgers. My Son & family ordered 6. I ordered a combo burrito. The meat on the taco burgers was overcooked and flavorless. They ended up throwing 4 of them away. My burrito was simply awful. Zero and I mean ZERO flavor. I ordered extra cheese. Apparently they don't understand what that means or they put only a tiny sprinkling of cheese to start because I barely got a regular cheese portion. The red sauce that makes Taco Villa stand out lacked any flavor. I had to go get hot sauce and pour it in the burrito for a flavor besides overcooked meat. Normally the red sauce on the burritos has a bit of a kick; so you wouldn't need to add additional sauce. Sometimes that kick will clear your sinuses lol.
I grew up eating at Taco Villa. Heck, we practically ate there for lunch everyday in high school lol. You can always count on consistency of taste and quality at Taco Villa no matter the decade or location (I've eaten in the Amarillo/Canyon locations 3 times this year when I went home for visits). Albeit some are better than others but the ingredients are the same. This location doesn't do justice to the Taco Villa name. Again, hindsight.... should've tried the burger...
Read moreI am writing this review to share our unfortunate experience during lunch at this establishment. Today's lunch visit left us dissatisfied due to issues with our order which consisted of a Cheeseburger, a Little Tex Burger, a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, a large order of fries, and large drinks. Regrettably, we did not receive the complete order as described as it became evident that the staff had mishandled our orders, mistaking them for dine-in meals despite our clear instructions for takeout. Moreover, we were disappointed to discover that our order was incomplete, as the large order of fries was missing.
In the past, this place has been inconsistent in terms of service and food quality. Unfortunately, today was a definite miss for us due to the series of problems we encountered not only with our order but also with those of other customers, including state troopers. The kitchen seemed to be in a state of chaos that would have everyone lose on Chopped, and the manager was talking horribly about me in Spanish to one of her employees, which is unprofessional and disrespectful about the way they treat customers here.
It is disheartening to experience such a lack of attention to detail and organization in an establishment. We hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable dining experience for...
Read moreI visit Taco Villa once or twice a week while traveling through. While eating, I heard an employee cuss, not once, but twice, back to back!. I could not see the employee from where I was sitting, but could hear him clearly. I also noticed that there was not a mature adult management staff present this visit. If there was one, I didn't see them! As a family restaurant, I'm sure that the cursing would be frowned upon, or it should be. I did not hear anyone say anything to the one that cussed, either time. I understand things happen with slip-ups, but this was back to back. I would also like to mention the fact the window tinting on the dining area windows is hideous! They have been that way for a few years now, and getting worse! It makes the presentation of your building look bad! For a chain restaurant, this location is looking rundown, and that's not good for a restaurant that sits on a main highway with everyone to see how it looks, as they pass...
