To start the parking lot was a mess. It was full of standing water and had to walk through about 2-3 inches of water to get inside. Shoes were soaked. Then we had a reservation for 645 and had to wait until after 7 to be seated. Once seated the atmosphere was quite nice and the restaurant was quaint but classy. For an Italian restaurant the wine selection was very limited, but the bottle prices were in line with that of other restaurants. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer and they were indeed the highlight of the meal! We ordered the white wine version and they were delicious and perfectly done. Our friends ordered the shrimp cocktail on ice and had to send them back as they were seasoned with a spicy Cajun seasoning and were not as the menu described. The restaurant did not charge for this item.(Thank you) As our main dishes we ordered the crab cakes St. Charles and a Caesar Salad with blackened shrimp. While the crab cakes were good they too were spicy, not noted in the menu. The Ceasars salad was an issue. Both in content and presentation. I asked for extra anchovy when ordering, and was told that they "don't have that here". I said the name of your restaurant is "Italian kitchen" every Italian kitchen has anchovy. When. The salad was brought out the Ceasar dressing was on the side and was not authentic. The salad had soft mozzarella or provel cheese instead of parmessean. It had red cabbage as well. I would not even call that a Ceasar salad. How can an Italian restaurant not know how to make a Ceasar salad. It was a huge disappointment. The blackened shrimp that accompanied the salad were quite good however. They seemed to have plenty of servers for the small venue but we had to ask multiple time for another drink and even water refills. Should never have to ask for a water refill. Good service is always on...

I’ve been coming to Giovanni’s for many years and it’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Brazoria county. The food is excellent and every server I’ve had has been great. I love the tomato Basil soup and the lasagna. This review is specifically based on my experience last weekend with some notes from previous experiences. This is a small restaurant so it is quite a bit crowded. My partner loves the filet mignon and it was phenomenal as usual. I decided to try something new and got the Alaskan salmon with lump crabmeat and shrimp Alfredo; the meal was delicious but I do have to say the salmon is smothered in sauce for those that may not like that. (Based on past experiences) The pizzas here are amazing! From this visit and past visits, on a negative note, the alcoholic beverages are portioned very lightly and there is some stinginess it seems. A group of my friends and I had ordered Italian margaritas & were not satisfied with them, my friend complained but I found the drink to be tolerable. This past visit I was very disappointed in the portioning of my glass of Pinot Grigio, there was barely any in the glass!!! This opinion is based upon being a worker in the restaurant industry that has served drinks & that not only wants my customers to enjoy their food, but also their drinks. Besides that, this restaurant is excellent and I will always recommend it to anyone that wants somewhere...

First, I was greeted when my wife and I walked in the door. We were seated quickly. The server came over quickly and saw to our immediate needs. Bread and dipping oil was brought without asking. The bread was hearty. Soft and seasoned to perfection. Drinks arrived fast. My wife didn't care for the wine. The server traded it for a drink my wife found more enjoyable. The server helped me find the food choice my wife wanted, 5 page menu. She also guided me to the item I had a taste for. Appetizers came quickly. Awesome taste. The salads were perfect. Crisp, clean, fresh and flavorful. The dressing was great. The main dishes had a wonderful flavor. Rich and tasty. The portions are large. Many boxes were needed. The atmosphere was that of the Western NY Italian restaurants I grew up with. Overall, the restaurant was phenomenal and worthy of many return visits. A special thanks to Tiffany, our server, for making our anniversary a wonderful event down to the complementary dessert. My complements to the Chef and kitchen staff, wait staff and bar tender. Rarely do I get the opportunity to write a review like this....

A great Italian experience. The Greek pizza with a peculiar flavor where the taste of black olives stood out next to the feta cheese but giving the best demonstration the Italian pizza, as if it were made by the gods. Its flavor with cherry tomatoes take you to the maximum expression of the rich Italian flavor. A great companion was mussels in lemon sauce; an incredible flavor that you did not want to come out of your mouth, so also the tomato soups but with a spicy flavor. The only thing I do not recommend is tiramisu. The classic Italian dessert that I think must be an explosive one was not, it was not fresh. It was frozen, which instantly killed all its essence. And speaking of the service, it was a spectacular one. Ask for Stephanie Michelle. What can they improve on? number 1, in the dessert and number two, to know the wines so that they can give details of them. Anyway, yes, I would return. A quiet and familiar place. I loved

Local Italian restaurant! with great ambiance. There are tables in the nice patio which is decorated with a lot of plants, like in a provenzal garden. Inside there is dimmed light, which make you feel some kind of romantic. This is a perfect spot for a big Italian dinner. We tried the fish and it tasted fresh. The entrée comes with a salad or a soup. Also you can pick your side dish it can be angel spaghetti, spinach or mixed sautee vegetables. There are also, different wines if you like.
