Found the place while looking at Google Maps and noticed that Chopsticks no longer existed and Aloha took over. Happy to see new and diversified food establishments opening up.
I ordered Aloha BBQ Mix and Spam Musubi to go.
Skip the Spam Musubi - doesn't have any sauce, just rice and spam wrapped in nori... they could have given teriyaki sauce on the side or added the sauce between the rice and spam.
If you are new, then definitely get the Aloha BBQ Mix - you get sliced beef, chicken thighs and one kalbi (short ribs). It comes with two scopes of rice and macaroni salad.
Sliced beef had the best flavor profile in this dish, seasoned well and delicious. Chicken was good, but could have used more seasoning and/or marinated bit longer. Kalbi was bit chewy and macaroni was not seasoned, very bland.
Overall, 3 out of 5 after initial visit... they do offer ramen, udon, sushi and other fried food items, so their offerings are extensive. Definitely will need to revisit and try other offerings.
On a final note, looks like they recently opened... so give them some time as they work things out. Hopefully things will have improved next time I...
Read moreThe worst $30 I ever spent in my life first off, I wanted a combo with two meats. the chili bone in chicken and I also tried the fried chicken. I forgot what they call it, but they gave me two completely separate orders as if I was ordering two orders Which made it amount to $30 that wasnât the issue the issue was they gave me barbecue chicken instead and they gave me the chili bone in chicken which comes cold and they should definitely let people know that because I never in my life had a bowl full of food that was cold unless it was supposed to be cold. I notified the lady at the counter and she went and warmed it up. It taste like bland chicken in red grease. As I was leaving, no one was standing at the front counter so I left the food right there and I decided to not ask for my money back Ill just never return. Iâm just giving people a heads up on how horrible the chili bone in chicken is. now the barbecue chicken on the other hand was pretty good. It tasted like the Chinese bourbon from the middle of the mall....
Read moreThis restaurant has a great portion to price ratio, and super authentic with the selection of dishes they offer. The menu instore in comparison to the Togo menu has more items so be sure to take your time once you order. The Teriyaki chicken Bowl was an awesome balance of veggies protein and rice with a beautiful medley of flavors in every bite, I highly recommend. Although the Aloha bbq combo has multiple proteins the shredded beef and cabbage was the star of the Platter maybe ask for more sauce when ordering. The kalbi and chicken were somewhat bland but super Tender. The Spam Musubi was another 5 star item both sauces provided whether the Teriyaki or bbq is the perfect decision. In conclusion the sides that come with the Aloha combo being Rice and macaroni were okay but lack luster comparing taste profiles; and the Chicken Teriyaki Udon soup was delicious as well with the tempura toppings overall I enjoyed my experience and definitely will be trying more dishes at...
