This is in response to Tay’s review before mine - Typically I’m not one to write reviews in general. However seeing that this was possibly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, I had to make a comment. The appetizers were very tasty but what ruined my experience here was the service. After accidentally ordering the wrong dish, We asked to exchange it for what we originally wanted. Instead of simply replacing our dish the waitress decided to guilt trip us into not ordering anymore. She said that if we changed the dish, she would have to pay out of her pocket in order for us to have the dish we really wanted. I’m not sure why management would allow that type of practice with their servers, especially when it was an accident & no one was at fault. Either way, We never will be returning to that place. The dish itself was almost $40 & we did NOT eat a single bite of it!!!! In total we spent nearly $80 for ONE order dumplings and rice. Would not recommend to anyone , there is a Pho restaurant right next to it that was actually busy and seemed to have better service. I would recommend going for the Pho spot or possibly next door where they sell the best Korean Corn dogs! Avoid this restaurant at all costs if you are a “foreigner” like us and need friendlier, kinder and more compassionate service… food was average. The waitress also made it a point to talk about us while we were sitting there … we could tell since they looked over at us and started speaking. I realize now why the restaurant was very empty .. we were also starving so we clearly didn’t see the signs of what we were going to experience. Worst place to go if you don’t speak Korean & want to respectfully enjoy the cuisine.
Read moreIf you’re craving authentic Korean cuisine, Seoul Soondae is a must-visit. Tucked away in a cozy corner of the neighborhood, this charming eatery specializes in soondae, a traditional Korean blood sausage, but its menu offers much more than just that.
Atmosphere: The ambiance is warm and inviting, with wooden accents and soft lighting that creates a relaxed dining experience. Whether you’re visiting for a casual lunch or a cozy dinner, the friendly staff makes you feel right at home.
Food: The star of the menu is undoubtedly the soondae itself. Served with a variety of dipping sauces, it’s perfectly seasoned and has a delightful texture. The dish is both savory and satisfying, and it pairs beautifully with a side of kimchi, which is tangy and fresh.
Other highlights include the kimchi jjigae and the bibimbap, both of which are bursting with flavor. The jjigae is hearty and comforting, while the bibimbap is vibrant, topped with a colorful array of vegetables and a perfectly fried egg. Don’t skip the banchan (side dishes)—they’re a wonderful accompaniment that showcases the depth of Korean flavors.
Service: The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, eager to recommend dishes if you’re unsure what to order. They take the time to explain the menu, making it a great spot for those new to Korean food.
Overall: Seoul Soondae offers an authentic taste of Korea with a warm atmosphere and excellent service. Whether you’re a fan of soondae or just looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. Don’t forget to save room for dessert; their homemade rice cakes are the perfect sweet ending to your meal. Highly...
Read moreThis is the correct restaurant. I checked the address and menu to Be sure. I meant to order B12, the stir fried octopus but I made a mistake and ordered B7. When I asked the lady what it was, it sounded like she said it was mixed vegetables with eel. I realized i ordered the wrong item because I went off the pictures and the two dishes did look similar at first glance. I apologized and explained to the lady that I accidentally ordered the wrong item and wanted to order the correct dish but she continued to morning allow it. At the end of the day, I can admit my fault in ordering the wrong dish, but to pretty much force us to pay for a dish that we didn’t want nor eat and then not allow us to order the correct dish is messed up. It’s a shame because I have lived here for years and had never been to this restaurant, so I was excited To go with my girl. The dish should have been taken off the bill and we should’ve Been able to orden the right dish. I left 1 star because the dumplings were good. And no one was rude, but when she realized we weren’t eating the dish, it did seem she was ignoring us because we tried getting her attention several times. I also didn’t appreciate that after we spoke about having the wrong dish, she went to a table with two ladies and started talking Korean and they both looked over at us. So like i said, this was the first and last time we will...
