We visited DRiP after hearing about it from mutual friends and it did not disappoint! The cafe just opened in March and is already getting so much love from the community which is amazing to see. The space is very well-kept, inviting, and offers a handful of seats perfect for parties of 1-4. We really admired how the menu pays homage to many classic Vietnamese coffees while adding their own modern twist and flavors.
The service was incredible. Even on a busy Saturday morning, the owner took the time to answer questions and provided recommendations since it was our first time there. I must have misunderstood when ordering and received a Pandan Espresso instead of the Pandan Sea Salt Foam, but the baristas quickly corrected the mistake without any hesitation and allowed us to keep the old drink to try which was very appreciated.
And what a happy mistake that was, because the Pandan Espresso was DELICIOUS. I’m usually a non-coffee drinker but this drink may have converted me. Each sip was so smooth and the espresso provided a perfect balance with the subtle sweetness of the pandan. The Pandan Sea Salt Foam was also very tasty and I loved the saltiness from the foam. It is on the sweeter side, so I recommend reducing that if you want it more balanced. We also tried the Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Sea Salt Foam and that was super strong, but very good!
Out of the three we tried, I highly recommend the Pandan Espresso and adding Sea Salt Foam to it. We didn’t get a chance to try their pastries but will plan to do that our next trip there. I can’t wait to have this be a regular stop for me the next time I...
Read moreThere is a lot to be complaining about, but despite that I’m giving them all 5 stars because my experience at the front with the cashier is great.
Probably the owner or the manager.
This is an experience on a busy Sunday lunch time ** Unlike most of their customers which are probably curious and fairly new to Vietnamese coffee, I know what I want. I come in asking for 2 egg coffee, but I wanted them as less sweet as possible.
He asked me if I had been here before, I said no, and he asked me if I want to try a sample of their normal coffee first. I was like sure! Turns out it was prefect and I didn’t need to tone down the sweetness at all! So pay I go.
The wait however is quite long for coffee, the coffee presentation and team is amazing. And I do already have pre-made standard coffee, however probably due to the nature of the Phin coffee that maybe some of those orders are taking longer than others.
Just my two cents here but I think they need to have somebody helping with consulting customers what they want and give samples while they are in line, that way it will help with decision making when we get up front, and it help speed up the line and overall experience.
I’m not going to dock any star because of the wait, but I can see it being a consistent problem and I would probably not going to want to come back if I have to wait 30 mins for 2 coffees even if its 1000% the best coffee...
Read moreMy friend and I saw a video about the matcha flight on tik tok and decided to go check it out. We had to wait for a little bit since they have a limited number of flights and especially as it was a weekend, but we didn’t mind and were busy talking anyway. When we got the flight, it was 1) so pretty, and 2) SO GOOD. It was honestly some of the best matcha I’ve had, and I would say I’m pretty picky when it comes to matcha. All the flavors were yummy, and the drinks had a good amount of matcha in them, which is a bit hard to find elsewhere.
Personally my favorite was the plain matcha, but I would like to try the rest of the non-matcha drinks.
Also want to shout out the manager, Duy. He thanked us for being patient and waiting, and we all talked a good amount about matcha and his experience with the cafe. He asked for our feedback, and also gave us a sample of another one of their drinks. While I was definitely planning on coming back, speaking to Duy also confirmed what an amazing business they are.
TLDR: If you are in nova, definitely go check...
