We had dry hot pot in NYC, after moving here we discovered this YOU LIKE SKEWERS.
Until, one time we had this dish again and found cooked "WORM" 🪱on it, to be sure we tried to cut and feel it, its really a long worm, its so disgusting.. 🤮🤢we might ate some of it we dont know....😅 but then, we dont want any scene since we liked the food, so we approached the girl that theres a worm on our food and her respond is " THATS NOODLES " 😅 we said we dont get noodles, LOOK at the photo if its VERMICELLI NOODLES ?'🙂↔️ really???' ZOOM the photo,' its Yellowish squishy soft ewww...🫣🤮🤢 look it up what noodle it is,. if your not familliar look at the difference, so then she called the guy and they were starting talking in Korean lang', he told me that we ate almost of it and told him we just started and not even consumed 1/4 of it, until we saw the worm'🪱 the guy starting talking korean shouting and angry way lol', i dont understand 😅 so then i just ask that if its okay can we just replace the food and his respond is angry shout "NO" and said " NEXT TIME CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU EAT IT" , thinking of that respond my hair bump coz it make me realize how old or unhygienic the food they were serving,. wait' why they were angry? im the one who should get angry those time, but i didn't we dont like make any scene', or maybe thats how they react idk', so i just get my refund, they were so RUDE!! i didnt know i will encounter koreans rude as that', but i calm down, we still hungry and they still wanted the food so i tried to just get new one, even though that happened but when i started getting some vegetables, we realized since they were angry i got paranoid that they might be do something to our food 😔 so we end up just left the place,.. it was dissapointing specially how they manage the situation like this, knowing that we are regular there, they were on denial and angry at the same time your all lucky that i am not that kind of a person making a scene',. i considered but you had guts to SHOUT!!' they dont even know how to just "APOLOGIZE" , to the customers,.. YES! they dont apologize to us' maybe after this review they will 😅just to say'🤭they do but the damage is done!' i dont have reason to lie, like i said i use to liked this food well, I hope no one will experience this again and they'l make it better...🤢 or someone has to check their store if they were serving old!!',.. well' now whoever ordering here "CHECK THE FOOD BEFORE YOU START EATING" or...
Read moreWe ordered a mala dry pot with lamb and chicken heart skewers. The food didn’t take very long, the service was appropriate, but the food was less than I was expecting.
This misses the mark for me as someone who’s had these dishes in Szechuan. The mala isn’t strong enough, it is slightly too sweet, and also too salty. Luckily, their rice was made very well to be eaten with the salty food. The sweetness level in conjunction with the oil level and saltiness made the dish very tiring to eat. Very quickly in this meal, I felt like I needed some water or soup to wash it all down. This dish is meant to be oily, but in combination with the sweetness, it is all too much. It is imbalanced on its own. It might be nice to have some kinda cold and sour side dish that offsets the sweetness and oiliness.
The chicken heart skewers was salted appropriately but also a bit too sweet.
These dishes may cater to an audience that prefer sweeter dishes, but as far as traditional Szechuan food goes, it...
Read moreHere goes: it's inside a food court. I didn't knew that and was slightly disappointed. For some reason I thought it was a legit restaurant. Now for the food. The skewers tasted exactly like some I've had in Beijing. The flavor is spot on and exactly what I was looking for. It is splendid. The spices used are the kind that warm the body without a mouth kick like a jalapeño. Excellent stuff. I had also a whole squid skewer. I picked it because I had just finished squid game and thought it was somehow amusing. It was good but I didn't like it as much as the beef ones. This is due to personal preference and it was still really good. The hot pot is excellent. My only complain is that for a couple dollars more, you could have the same hot pot all you can eat, at a place like 99c (a favorite of mine). Other than that, that place is excellent and I want to go back to try more skewers. If I could, I would have another skewer right about now, they...
