Absolutely gorgeous building. The bar in the center of an open floor to vaulted ceiling design allows for an inclusive feel between bar and restaurant. The design is modern and sleek. Not like the other Adam's locations. The architecture and atmosphere will allow the company to draw on more of the community for dinner and / or drinks. The original Adam's feels like a warm country home for whole families and dinners with babies. The new Adam's boasts date night, an older crowd enjoying a cold drink and ap with friends or a great meal /business meeting. I was impressed at how large it felt inside. There are 2 levels and lots of stairs if you choose to dine upstairs, which I did. It was a great view of the bar from above, and I could not help but think this could become the Cheers of Eastport..the food was delicious. The menu is a smaller menu than the other Adam's locations I've visited. Edgewater, Kent Island area and Eastport... but not lacking in any deliciousness. We had the crab dip served with a warm baggette crispy on the outside and soft on the inside it paired well with the bubbly cream cheese and MD blue crab. I had prime rib, med rare with asparagus and sweet potato casserole. Omg, that, my friends, was worth the entire visit. Served in a tiny cast iron skillet, the sweet potatoes have brown sugar crumbles and minced pecans baked until crispy around the edges. A photo of this is below. The restroom was clean and stocked. It could benefit from an air freshner of some kind, in my opinion. The server was great, attentive, and knew the menu well. A young woman with an awesome personality in college who also has worked at Adam's Eastport for a couple of years. The only disappointment was that more than half my prime rib was all fat and gristle, thus inedible. The photo on the small plate of the fat is the last photo below. FYI, parking was nonexistant. I have lived here all my life pretty much, so I was able to find a place near...
Read moreI have been waiting awhile to post a review because we love this place so much. But the past 6 months it’s been hit or miss. Between being forgotten by our waitress, a waitress forgetting to put our order in, never getting drink refills and cold meals we just stopped coming in for dining service. It was lacking. Not to mention sometimes the wait staff was just unpleasant. But carry out has been great. Until tonight. Now I get it. It’s a Friday night. So they should be staffed and orders should be right. Even if takes longer. That’s expected on a Friday night. It’s the local place but it’s really unacceptable to send your carry out guests home with cold food. I’m not sure how they were able to manage hot fries on the outside but completely still cold and hard in the middle but they did. Not cooked at all. They also tried to charge us for food we didn’t order. Our chicken tender meal, they left the lid off the honey mustard so it spilled over everything. We always get a side of queso minus the chips. Everyone does this. We have done it for years. The queso is amazing! Tonight they were refusing to allow us to just get queso. We had to order chips too. They said we can’t just give you queso. Then argued with us that they never allow anyone to just order queso. Not true because again ordering it for years like this. Maybe it’s new management or maybe new staff. I don’t know. But the last 6 months things have changed. With so many other local places closing or just being way to packed and 2-3 hour waits, this has always been the go to. The food is good. Drinks are good. The service can be great. But it shouldn’t be hit or miss. Not being a local place for locals. Maybe I just expect more but...
Read moreMy buddy and I grabbed lunch here yesterday, and I've gotta say, it was really good. I got the short rack of ribs with beans and fries, and he got the brisket sandwich with fries, and we split an order of crab dip. The crab dip was, well, it was Maryland crab dip, so of course it was good. It had better be good. If the crab dip wasn't good, the locals would come out with torches and pitchforks and burn the place down. My buddy said his brisket sandwich was very good, and the fries were very nice for both of us. My ribs were excellent--perfectly sauced (the sauce was very nice), and fall-off-the-bone tender. But I've gotta talk about those beans. Do NOT sleep on the beans at this joint. These baked beans are absolutely not the canned garbage you'll find at other places. These are VERY CLEARLY homemade, and very much worth getting. There are like 4 different kinds of beans in there, which lends a very nice, varied, and interesting texture, and the sauce is just divine. Combine all that with a good beer selection and buddy, you've got a...
