Be sure to arrive earlier in the morning as when they sell out, they sell out! And there is typically a line. From artesian breads to flavorful scones to tasteful croissants, this place is where you need to go. We arrived about an hour after opening, and we waited for about 15 minutes in line which gave us the right amount of time to browse the display case and figure out what we wanted. I opted to go with their classic Market Bun which is a fried pastry rolled in cinnamon sugar. The outside was perfectly crisp with a soft chewy inside. The cinnamon sugar gave it the perfect touch of sweetness. I also had a taste of the almond croissant, it did not lack in the almond flavor, I do wish I tried the almond croissant with the chocolate because that would’ve been just what I was craving. Others in my party got a quiche which they ate cold, and a scone which I did not get to try. We took our pastries to go but did not make it farther than outside the door and ate it at a table outside the...
Read moreAre used to frequent this location every Sunday morning with my kids of which I have 4. Used to be a great place to hang out and enjoy amazing baked goods. I would see the same people there week in and week out and it was such a great community. However, they haven’t reopened indoor seating which is completely changed the dynamic of this bakery. It’s nearly impossible for me to take me and my kids and stand outside in freezing weather. Sometimes the line takes 15 to 20 minutes. This is not my idea of a fun Sunday morning anymore. I’m not sure why they haven’t reopened . I’ve tried to call multiple times and have not received a call back or an answer. This, once beloved bakery, is now unfortunately on my “no-go” list due to the lack of convenience and the disappearance of its cozy culture. Hopefully they can listen to reason and science and reopen safely.
Update 3/1: move down to one star since nobody has reached out with an explanation or update. Need to work on community...
Read moreI hate to frame this review in this way, but it is a good thing this bakery is not open all week. If it were, I’d be there every day for a slice of Ham Quiche and a Market Bun. The quiche is simply the most delicate and delightful we have ever tasted. The Market Bun is also delicious, but it is so good as to be dangerous. I find it is simply addictive. I brought the quiche and bun home and ate the quiche for breakfast. I’m full. But the dang Market Bun is on the kitchen counter calling out to me. Sure, this review says more about my lack of discipline than how amazing Bakers and Co. is, but isn’t that what makes delicious treats so compelling? The inability to resist? In this way, Bakers and Co. nailed it. I surrender. The...
