Blackwall Hitch — Restaurant in Annapolis

First and foremost if I could give negative stars, that's just what this establishment deserves. I want to start out by saying "I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS", however, people need to know about the horrible experience we encounter in the Annapolis location. Please note: it was the "Annapolis location" I don't want it to be confused with any other location were we felt welcome.

Restaurant was NOT crowded at all when my party of 5 arrived on time for our 4:30pm reservation.

First issue: We were seated right by a heavy traffic area( near the kitchen), I asked the host can we move up a table, her response was: "people already have reservation for those tables" OK... So, you now select specific tables inside of an establishment...especially when every last one of them were empty...yeah Sure! Next, we felt since we couldn't move tables maybe we will just go to the bar area to get HAPPY HOUR prices. They " the waiter" mentioned the bar area is closed. SO, during the day at happy hour time: you all are closed.. yeah OK. So, we asked since the bar is closed can you honor happy hour prices at the table. The waiter" Connor" I believe his name was, said he needed to ask the manager. The bar manager came to the table and we proceed to ask about Happy HOUR. He mentioned the bar is closed and my manger said you can only get HAPPY HOUR prices on the roof top outside. Keep in Mind it's 106° degrees outside. I kindly declined and mention one of our guest have health and heart issues and can not sit outside in the heat, "can we get happy hour at the table." The bar manger mention I would have to do the entire restaurant then. So, I said not if people do not inquire about it you would not need to. His response was" Well I will go back to no Happy hour today". I understand his point and message but it was the DELIVERY AND TONE of voice used to make his point clear. I'm not your child and you will not speak upon me as if I am.

My point about this review: we felt unwanted and knew we were unwanted and left without ordering anything. I refuse to spend my money in an establishment that single out people by their race. I will NEVER return to this place ever! And if you decide to go there, I hope you have a better experience...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Blackwall Hitch in Annapolis for the first time, and I must say, there is a drastic difference from the location in Baltimore. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the beautiful aesthetics of the restaurant. The ambiance was welcoming, joyous, and created the perfect atmosphere for a memorable dining experience.

Despite visiting during a less busy time, the level of professionalism and accommodation from the hostess, waitress, and additional staff who helped bust the tables was truly exceptional. Every person I encountered was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction.

The food at Blackwall Hitch was simply excellent. It seemed as if as soon as we placed our orders, our meals arrived at the table in no more than 15 minutes. The efficiency of the kitchen and the quality of the dishes truly impressed me.

Opting to sit outside, we requested that the fire pit be lit as it was a bit chilly. I was pleasantly surprised when several team members came to ensure that it was properly working and that we were comfortable. Their attention to detail and willingness to make our dining experience enjoyable was greatly appreciated.

Our waitress deserves special recognition for her phenomenal job. She exemplified what exceptional customer service in the restaurant industry should be. She valued her job and treated us as valued customers. Her engaging conversation and insightful recommendations from the menu added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evening. She checked on us at just the right times, never overstepping her boundaries, and her suggestions for our dinner choices were spot-on.

Overall, our experience at Blackwall Hitch in Annapolis was nothing short of fabulous. The hour and 45-minute drive to get there was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with top-notch service, excellent food, and a beautiful ambiance.

The service was equally outstanding. From the friendly greeters to the attentive wait staff and the buffet servers, every team member was courteous and professional. The manager made frequent rounds, ensuring guests enjoyed their experience and addressing any questions or concerns with genuine care. His professionalism stood out, and he pointed out review cards, encouraging honest feedback on Google or Yelp. My friend and I were so comfortable and well taken care of that we stayed from 11 AM until 2:45 PM—without feeling rushed! The manager even extended a personal paper invitation for a cocktail hour on New Year's Eve, which was such a thoughtful gesture.
