I went here for lunch because of the impressive reviews and ordered the tofu fried rice (#77, I believe). Overall, the place was clean and the staff were pleasant. No issues there. Very cozy. I did have some issues with the food portions, pricing, and with the payment methods.
First of all, the pricing did not fit the portion received. At the time of my visit, the price for a #77 was $10.99, which is a standard lunch price in Harrisburg. However, for a dish that consisted of vegetables, rice and tofu, which are some of the least expensive ingredients in the world, this seemed a bit excessive. The issue was exacerbated by the very small portion size. I'm not good at guessing ounces, but it was not a lot.
The preparation did not make up for the high price. The dish was not bad, but it was not very good either. Perhaps I am not familiar enough with Vietnamese cooking, but it seemed very dull and very bland. The tofu was very dry and lifeless, as were the vegetables. I had to use the table sauces to give it some life. I'm not against table sauces, but I shouldn't have to rely on them to give the dish some character.
The other criticism I have is that there is a $15 minimum for credit card payments. Really? When most people don't carry cash? I get that you are trying to save on bank fees, but come on, even the kwik-e-marts only use a $5 minimum. There is an ATM there, which probably has an exorbitant per transaction fee associated with it, though I do not know for sure.
Never the less, I would still suggest trying this place, at least once. They are family owned and seem like very nice people. Perhaps your experience will...
Read morethis is pretty decent, they have a basic menu with only a few items. parking was always a pain in the butt. you had to park kinda slanted and they didnt have great direction signs. this is a great place to go and eat if you didnt know what you wanted to get.
they have the typical vietnamese music and video playing when you walk in that just loops over and over and over, i swear if you tried to learn the language this might be a good place to start. khamang! haha. they have basic pho soup, large or small with some standard rice dishes. pork, beef and shredded pork. i kind of like it because the one dish was 8.50 (far more expensive that a typical vietnamese rest) but it included beef, rice, mini-salad and crispy spring rolls. the food's pretty good quality.

This place is still going strong, it is a little house at the corner of Paxton and Parkview Ln, near the Rent a Center, South Philly Hoagies & Underdog's. The food is as good as ever! I originally spelled their name wrong in my review last september, so now im correcting it. as of summer 2009 they have a new picture menu and more food to...
Read moreWe went on opening night here in Annville. It was pretty packed and service was a slow, but I expected as much considering the large crowd and that it is only family run. There was only one older woman taking orders and running food! Let me tell you though, the hour and a half wait for the bowl of pho (#8) was WELL WORTH IT! the flank was thick cut and fall apart tender. The broth was the perfect combination of savory and sweet, aromatic and warm... the noodles weren’t soggy, or too al dente. It was perfection. I devoured the entire amount in under 10 minutes. My son enjoyed playing with the employee’s children - he made himself right at home in fact. I cant express how thrilled I am a pho place is so close to my house. And a delicious one with friendly, welcoming staff to boot! Did I mention their internet wasn’t set up yet so I was unable to pay with my credit card, and the owner told me not to worry and to come back some time later to pay??? I came back the next day with cash and he almost refused, saying i didn’t need to make a special trip (it’s literally on my way to work!!!) It’s obvious this family isn’t in it for the money... I will be going back for more, I...
