Browsing through GrubHub and wanting to try something new, this came up as one of my options. I have never been here so I wanted to try a mix of everything. I ordered a container of pernil (pulled pork), pig feet stew with rice, and fried chicken. Right away I regretted my decision for not adding rice to the pulled pork. That meat was so juicy and succulent. The absolute best pulled pork I have ever had in my life! The flavor was great and the bonus piece of crispy skin brought it all together. The pig feet stew was everything I was hoping it would be. Soft chewy skin, meat falling off the bones. The rice had great flavor as well. Perfect accompaniment to the pig feet stew. Fried chicken was moist on the inside, crispy on the out, almost like a chicharrone but not dried out at all. The brine they used allowed the chicken to stay moist on the inside. This will be a new regular spot for me. The owner even called me when I placed my order to ensure everything was right as GrubHub has been confusing options for patrons. Overall, a 10 out of 10! There are many Puerto Rican food spots in the area but this place does not compare. It stands out from the rest! You've had the rest, now try the...
Read moreThis negative review is solely based on customer service. The food is authentic and really good and I know because this is my homeland food. With that said, they are to unorganized and lack attention to detail. Took over an hour to deliver (I live 10 minutes away) they also went to the wrong address "Main" vs "May" even though I explained it several times but he was talking to everyone at the resturant instead of listening and lastly brought be the wrong juice and when he went back to get the correct one he brought back the wrong version again. Im not one to complain but way to many mistakes in one order attempt. Again, the food is always good and usually don't have an issue when I order through UberEats but that was what happen. If your ordering through the Uber app or picking up then your in for a treat. Otherwise proceed...
Read moreJust tried this place recently, i pass by it all the time and decided to give it a try. Sooo glad i did! The service was great for takeout, the gentleman who was working was very patient and answered all my questions. I tried the beef stew- a must try. I also had the Pernil w/rice & peas..omg super delicious and marinated very well. Not over seasoned or salty (like some other places). Also tried the yucca and the goat. The goat was cooked well, seasoned well and very tender. The serving size was amazingly pretty generous, We had enough food for two days. Place was clean. I will be a repeat customer, as long as the food & service continues to be this great! If your in Ansonia give...
