First time at the Rivalry on a Wednesday night with very few customers. My wife ordered a plain burger medium, which came out very pink, after the waitress said the kitchen had to redue the burger because they put cheese on it. We explained up front that my wife is gluten and dairy intolerant. Then they brought out my filet mignon without my wife’s food. I tested the mashed potatoes and they were cold and told the waitress, besides the meat looked well over done, past medium rare. When they brought our food at the same time, they didn’t bring my wife’s asparagus, so she had to wait for that. The burger was sitting on her plate by itself, with three quarters of the plate bare. The presentations leave a lot to be desired. No garnishes, nothing! I found the menu to be very ambitious and would be hesitant to order more complicated dishes, since they can’t get a burger or steak correctly served. I’m not sure that we shall return to this restaurant, which is a shame, since Antioch is in dire need of a good restaurant. One of their many problems is they send out food on cold plates, then carry it across a long dinning room to chill the food even more. Any good chef knows that food should be served hot, apparently there is no chef there only fast order cooks. I wonder what do they do when it’s busy on the weekends? If you look at the pictures here, you’ll see what the presentation is lacking. I was told there is a new chef there, but I really couldn’t tell that there was one on staff. I am not sure what the owner wants this to be? Is it another bar and grill, is it supposed to be upscale? With the menu priced the way it is and the selection of food, I don’t think this place will make it. The general feel of it is large and cold with very uncomfortable chairs. They have metal chairs with small seats, which are meant to move you out sooner, like the fast food restaurants do. Before you go, look 👀 below ⬇️ and hit the thumbs 👍 up.

This is a great add to downtown Antioch. Full bar with some great signature drinks and lots of options to choose from. The servers are fabulous, and the place itself is very cute and spacious. There's an outdoor area and a rooftop for the warm weather months. The menu is a little unexpected. Food is very subjective, and everyone has their own tastes, but I found the options a bit out of my preferences. There are quite a lot of options to choose from; however, if you happen to be a vegetarian, you're limited to mac and cheese, a salad, or an impossible burger. It's my understanding that there are some really good changing daily specials posted inside. There's also a weekend brunch I've heard good things about, with a bottomless Mimosa option! Again, if you're a vegetarian, you're going to be limited to French toast and a few ala-carte vegetable side options. The drinks are super tasty, and the staff is fabulous! I'm really looking forward to enjoying the outdoor seating during the warm weather months and will be returning. Definitely worth stopping in.

OK, so we wanted a nice place for our 38th anniversary and we found it great casual place in the Rivalry Alehouse. First off, the bartender / server, Kevin, was fantastic. He took better care of us than most servers we've had a high end restaurants and he did this while running the bar too! After deciding on the cheese curds and cream of broccoli soup for starters...and both were terrific, I was torn between the Epic Pork Schnitzel and the Gnocchi Bolognese. Based on Kevin's recommendation I went with the Schnitzel and I'm glad I did. It was prepared really well but the sides made the dinner truly epic. Braised red cabbage, mashed potatoes, and the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. My wife had the Spaetzel Beef Marsala and upon tasting it I think it was a perfect bite of food. The only thing I didn't care for was the Banana Bread that but they took such great care of us that I really couldn't complain about it. Thanks Rivalry Alehouse for giving us a fun and delicious anniversary dinner.

So I just got out of the Antioch high School and I was wanting something to eat. I was craving a burger told my wife that let's go to this bar right across rights next door to the pet store and it's on the corner in downtown area. So we did go and we came in and it's not that we waited that long. But the people be in front of us were very patient and very kind and they were waiting 10 minutes to be seated. And of course they open up at 11:00 and they had a party upstairs and there was only two servers but there was also someone upstairs along with which was the manager that was in charge of the entertainment that does the partys and stuff like that. So here's this waitress both waitresses downstairs when we were coming in and the guy was flagging them down and you know working at a restaurant when you flag somebody down the mean that they've been waiting for a while. Unlike we we just came in so I figured I'd help them out and go ahead and care of their attention. So that was a downfall there if I have to yell across the restaurant to get someone's attention because there were too busy upstairs. Why for a party then? Why are their business hours at 11:00 if they're not going to have enough staff to accommodate the upstairs and the downstairs secondsly we got done sitting down after me shouting across the restaurant for it you know to get a place to be seated and I've have waited 45 minutes for you know to be seated and to get the food and everything else which is no problem. But you figure that the wet server that kept going up and down the stairs kind of kept an eye on everything downstairs as well and probably was struggling because she kept on eyeing the other waitress. I told my wife I said if she needs the help then she should have help. It's not fair for one server to attend to the party while the other one is here down here attending the guest. So we ended up ordering the food and let her be old. I took pictures of it of course and we ordered a BLT sandwich and 9:45 burger as Allison. The waitress recommended. But my wife wanted chicken along along with the BLT sandwich. So I told her to go ahead and get that and add in the chicken so we did and then I ordered the 9:45 well done with no bacon. When the food got there there was cheese on the BLT as ordered along with the chicken but there was no chicken. We did not get charged for it but there was no chicken. The signature fries that we did get. I just have to say if we're going to call it signature fries you might need to make it perfect with crispy not just some fries here and there. Crispy but crispy and not overcooked or undercooked. Mine was not undercooked but it was overcooked on some fries. Want some of them were skinnier than others, but the signature fries weren't as appetizing. As a looked along with the burger itself, the bun was not toasted at all from the inside and the outside so the bun was cold. The the meat on the burger was a bit dry. It had no taste even though it was well done. I don't know how many cooks were in there but for waiting 45 minutes to be seated and get to get our food we should have had hot food. The atmosphere was okay. I liked the setting. It was nice but it was a bit cold. I was freezing. I don't know how else to say or how much else to say, but looks can be deceiving of course. Would I go again? Maybe...

Stopped by for lunch - ordered a simple ginger ale - the server was not allowed to get it from behind the bar and the bartender had walked away - ok I can wait, The bartender came back but my server was doing other server things, when he saw the brtendder was back at the bar - he went to ask for my drink - she was too busy taliing on her cell phone (It was NOT the restaurant's land line) and completely ignored him when he was tryng to get her attention, (PS - there were only 4 tables of people and 2 guys at the bar) I called our server over to just take our order and get me water - he could bring my drink when the barttender was done with her call. He went and placed our order and went back to the bar - well now the bartender was in a conversation with the 2 men at the bar and still didn't see him. I eventually got my ginger ale - good thing I wasn't really thirsty. That said - my server JOSH deserves a raise- he was very apologetic of someone else's lake of work ethic. he must have apologized 20 times. Three and 1/2 stars for Josh, one for the delicious food and quick delivery of that and zero stars for the bartender. I also have tended bar and understand when it is busy - but if you are going to be on a personal call - get someone to cover the bar!!! And to all the other people working there around noon today - thank you for saying bye and have a good day. PS to the owners, there was literally no one behind the bar for at least 10 minutes and then she spent another 5 minutes...
