I ordered delivery of chicken parmesan from Fat Man's Pizza. I have never had a problem before it's actually pretty delicious. I placed a delivery order of a chicken Parmesan dinner and a side of fried mushrooms. I placed the order at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday evening, was told it would be an hour and 35 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes for delivery. I had no problem with that. at 7:13 p.m. my order was delivered and I realized immediately that the mushrooms were not in the bag. This restaurant has two different phone numbers I immediately started calling both numbers only to get a busy signal. I called each number back to back to back over a hundred times to no avail. I have proof. Delivery driver called me after 12 minutes stating that he still had my mushrooms and they were being kept warm by a pizza. The driver delivered my mushrooms after 21 minutes. I am not blaming this driver at all I'm just putting it out there, the driver is actually a really nice guy and was very apologetic and we understood because it was Saturday. However my husband and I waited for the mushrooms and never opened our entree to keep it warm. I was blown away after I saw the condition of my chicken parmesan. There was a huge layer of cheese that I lifted off and set aside I found chewed up pieces of chicken parmesan on top of the pasta. To be perfectly honest it looked like somebody's leftovers. The little chicken pieces had bite marks in them some pieces had no breading on them there were breaded ends like it was the end of a piece of chicken with no chicken. it seriously looked like they took someone's leftovers thrown them on top of the pasta through a ton of cheese on top and put it back in the oven and sent it out for delivery. I have ordered this dish probably about five or six times from them and every single time I get nice big pieces of breaded chicken breast strips or breaded chicken breast itself never one time have I gotten a little tiny cut up bite mark tiny pieces of chicken. Needless to say I threw it away very very disgusted. I continued trying to call the restaurant with both numbers having a busy signal finally I gave up. Looks like we won't be ordering from Fat Man's Pizza again it's really too bad because it was a good...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I am usually a very reliable tipper. We went there earlier today and the location was apparently experiencing an Internet outage. So the only way to pay was cash. And I was dining there with my family, including an under two year old. I forgot to leave a tip while I was making sure I had enough cash, which we only found out about after we ordered by the way. We placed our order with one person, got the food brought to the table by another, nobody gave their names. It was an extremely impersonal experience and I suppose tipping wasn’t on my mind like it might have been if we had one server who had visited our table more than to bring the food and inform us that we couldn’t use our card.
This is all to say that what really upset me was the way I was “reminded” that we did not leave a tip. After we left and I went to load up the toddler in her seat the woman who had brought our food out, not the person who had taken our order or first welcomed us, came out and stood in the doorway while we got in the car. She gave us the stink eye for the entire time, shook her head repeatedly and mouthed something I didn’t hear inside the vehicle. Concerned, I returned inside and asked what was wrong.
“You dine in and don’t leave a tip, it’s just a shame. You know, people work for tips.” Was her reply.
You know, I can think of a few better ways to inform someone they didn’t leave a tip, especially considering all the additional nonsense like not having being able to use my card, but hers takes the top of the list of rude ways to do it.
Needless to say, we won’t be back. I’ve been there a total of two times and I did enjoy the deep dish. Their fries are pretty good too. The rest of the food is extremely ok. Not worth half effort service that still expects a tip like it’s a predestined obligation. Local pizza places are usually top notch, but...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to hit Fatman's after not being there for a very long time. Life happens. Anyway, we met Tina 1 and Tina 2 in a totally revamped joint. (Like I said.......been a while.) They are the BOMB! Soooo nice and friendly and very funny! We love going places with character and the two Tinas have plenty of that! Love it! The place is now very open and lots more room to move around. It was not stifling hot as it was a long time ago. They even have a small stage for what we learned was Open Mic Night on Fridays, but we were there for lunch on Thursday. OMG! The food was outstanding! So much better than what we remembered before! I got Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and my wife got the Baked Ravioli with Marinara Sauce! Way better than we expected........OFF DA HOOK! And, my wife is still wanting to go back for more Beef Stroganoff soup...it was pretty tasty! She had never had it before and now it is one of her faves!
The next day (Friday) my wife and I were running errands and decided to check out Open Mic Night and share some fries and rings for fun and a little date night! Tina 1 met us with a smile and remembered what we wanted to drink right away. We also noticed the place was getting full of people both young and old. Tina met each of them with a smile and hug to those she obviously knew (and there were many!) The fries and rings were great and the music from two guys playing guitar was nice and clear, but not too loud.
This is the kind of place we love to visit and will definitely be back to taste what other changes they've made to the recipes! And, my wife says that she will be back to try each soup that they continue to make! Thank you, Tina 1 and Tina 2...you two are warm, friendly, helpful, and just make the place and made our hearts smile and laugh! Thank you, Fatmans! See you...
