Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Apache Junction

The sonic motto is “service with speed and sound,” and tonight’s order was served up “with a turtles pace and an AJ attitude.” The family order: a number 4 no cheese, a plain hamburger (again, no cheese), chicken tenders, chili cheese tots, and a grilled cheese. Simple right? Apparently not at this shop. First of all, we pulled up, hit the button, waited, some time only for a “only the drive through is open,” to blare through the speaker before an abrupt ending from with worker. Drive thru was then backed up and it seemed paint could dry quicker than they could process an order. Then we finally make it to the front and meet one of the AJ locals, a buck toothed blonde with only an attitude to serve. We get some of our food and she rolls her eyes as we check it. She said we had a cheeseburger, we corrected and said it was a plain hamburger, and then she goes on to say that it’s a plain burger in the bag. One piece missing was a fork to eat the chili cheese tots. We ask for it and some extra ketchup only for the worker to then slam the door and then disappear into the back as though hibernating for the season. They return with a bag of sauces and again no fork. Are you forking kidding me?? Then we had to find a spot to eat as the drive thru is a right turn only. We find a lot only to see the #4 has cheese (dairy allergy here) and the plain hamburger has what you asked: CHEESE! It’s literally one less step. It was literally a plain burger and you couldn’t even get that right. On top of that they argued about what was in our bag and were wrong. Cheese Louise. Also the #4 called “Texas toast” was so undercooked it looked like they slapped a burger down on a piece of wonder bread. Here’s some advice for next time; use a toaster if you want the food toasted! Sonic location 875w apache trail apache junction AZ, so I ordered a BLT(bacon lettuce and tomato) with extra moyonaise, when I got my order I checked it out,it had almost 1/2 a piece of bacon and no moyo the carhop pointed out to me that it had no Mayo,I told her that the sandwich was unacceptable ,she said she would have it made again,I had no problem with it being made again, so I get the 2nd sandwich opened it up and it had almost a full strip of bacon and I'd say about a spoonful of Mayo, I asked to speak to a manager, and a very young man came out I showed him the sandwich contents, he apologized to me, but also did not offer any resolution ,I handed him the sandwich ,told him he could keep it, I didn't ask for my money back(Mr owner of this sonic) I then drove to McDonald's and bought a double cheeseburger. I am flabbergasted at this situation , and mostly at the non effort to right the wrong from your manager, I should have demanded my money back, but it's not a money thing, it's a sandwich thing and your employees should have been ashamed at what they offer to me as my order,is your establishment so broke that you cannot put 4 pieces of bacon in a BLT sandwich, not even 2 pieces, but almost but not quite a full one piece of bacon. Horrible visit. The ice cream and slushie machines were down and we weren't told till after we placed the order. Then when I went to place a second order for just a coke, I was told by the lady I had to wait 10 minutes to place my order till she repaired the ice cream machine. I was then ignored when I tried telling her all I wanted was a coke. I will never go to this Sonic again. I wish I could give 0 stars. UPDATE 1/10/2021 Since the visit over two years ago, I have actually given this Sonic 5 chances to make good. I have even called the manager to complain about certain issues this place continues to have. It is plain to me that this location has no committment to be at least good. I am by far and away not picky or one that likes to complain........but, whenever I come here, the ice cream machine is down, they are out of something (usually something I am looking to order) or the customer service is poor as it was tonight. One time I came to this location about a year ago and one of the employees left their microphone on and I could hear the employees dropping constant F and N bombs. When I told the employee at the window about this she denied it. I had to call the manager about it and she supposedly handled it. But, I told her about the other issues as well (listed above) and well I know those haven't been addressed.
