We have been to this location under many different names and owners over the years. Sadly, most of them have been very inconsistent, and have not been able to make a go of it here. We Finally decided to come give Chilakiles a try a few months ago. Today I ordered three carne asada tacos and one carnitas. They we're all delicious, along with the pastor. My wife ordered the lengua burrito. It was a very good size burrito, and she was very happy with it. The salsa is very good to . We have been here many many times now since our first visit, and they have done nothing but improve. The restaurant is always clean, well-organized, and well-run. We really enjoy this location as it is close to our house, so we truly wish them the best, and hope they will be here for a long time. They have a very nice looking menu, and a very large selection to choose from. We will be back soon to try out the different dishes. Good luck Chilakiles, we wish you the best. (Update) – We have now been coming to chilaquiles about 6 months. They have done nothing but improve to the point that I can now say they are the best Mexican restaurant in the area, and one of the very best in the high desert. Far Better than La Fiesta, Los Alazanes, Coyote Loco in Lucerne Valley, and all the rest. If you have not been here, I highly recommend giving them a try. Congratulations on a job well done...
Read moreThis morning I decided to go here a try one of their breakfast burritos. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. The burrito was filled with potatoes! I doubt there was even 1 egg and 1 slice of bacon. What a huge disappointment to say the least. And when are they going to get the drive thru speaker fixed? People in line can't make their order till they get up to the window. It takes them on average a minimum of 15 minutes to make your order. So imagine you're in the drive thru and you're the 3rd car in line, you have to wait 30 minutes before you even get to place your order. And then another 15 min for your order. Ridiculous! It's simple things like this that make a business fail. I've seen cars drive straight thru when they find out the dorsal doesn't work. And we've all experienced this already from the previous owners. And their food is already being inconsistent! With that said and for the reasons stated, they've lost me as a customer. And be wary of the dinner dishes/ combo plates because they come with a soft drink (during certain hours), and they will Not tell you about it. So you end up ordering and paying for a drink when you didn't have to. And make sure they're charging you the correct price because I caught them twice now...
Read moreI stopped in at this Mexican restaurant today and unfortunately had a very poor experience. When I walked in and went to the counter, I was immediately met with a rude look. The first words I heard were, “pick up or for here?” — no greeting, no smile. I replied, “for here please,” and was told simply, “go sit.”
I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe I misread the situation. She brought out a thing of chips along with salsa. The salsa dish was the usual small size, but it was only about halfway full. She then handed us menus. We said, “thank you very much,” but she wouldn’t even look at us she just turned and walked away without a word. You could tell she was serving us only because she had to, not because she wanted to.
At that point, I decided to leave. If I’m treated poorly just for walking in, I cannot trust how my food will be handled. I’m a friendly, kind person who treats people with respect, so being met with that kind of attitude was extremely disappointing.
Sadly, I won’t be returning. Customers deserve to feel welcome when they choose to spend their money, and unfortunately that was not...
