So I chose to Wendy's over the new ChicFilA in town simply because I thought it was going to be a little bit cheaper and because I was in the mood for a bacon cheeseburger. I get there and there's two cars in the drive thru and two cars in the parking lot so I decide to go in. Upon entering the store, I see there are three older men standing in front of the counter whom I have no clue have already ordered or not but I assume they have been as I end up waiting twenty minutes JUST to be greeted or acknowledged. While I wait, I make eye contact with two managers who decide to just stare at me from the back instead of greeting me like I know they should have. I watch this guy hand out an order and say "sorry about the wait" to another person just to hear them say they were missing some items. Then about five minutes later, the guy finally comes to the counter and I realize the three men that were standing in front of me had not ordered yet and they had been standing there long before I arrived and I was already 25 minutes in. I wait for them to order and luckily the guy at the counter decided to take my order as well so I order a son of a baconator and a reg baconator with baconator fries for one combo and chili cheese fries for another and I guess I made someone mad with the sour look on my face because I got my food 5 minutes later but the baconator fries had little to no cheese at all and literally four pieces of bacon on top and no chili fries at all. When I said something to the guy- he checked my bag and wanted to argue that I already had it, explained that I asked and bought for chili cheese fries as well so then he finally goes to make my order- I heard him ask if the chilli was supposed to go in first and heard and yes but then when I pulled the fries out- there was no cheese on the chili and when I asked him about it- he just said he brain was operating backwards that day and apologized. After watching them mess up three orders before mine, I had no empathy. I will never go back to this Wendy's again- the one out by the mall is way better and more competent than the people working out on Oneida St who seem to have no communication or customer service skills at all. I used to work in fast food so I'm not usually so harsh but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had out of all the fast food chains I've been to in my life. And I used to live in the ghetto. I'm...
Read moreWendy's is a strange experience. The food is almost always on point, but the service is hit or miss, which isn't much the fault of the employees there since they are doing the best with what they have, but more a general fast food experience lately across all sorts of restaurants aside from maybe McDonald's for some reason.
We generally have to wait a while at the location we go to, and the food is pretty tasty. The last time we went, however, they missed taking the bacon off of my sandwich, which isn't so bad for me even though I don't eat pork, but I can see it being an issue for folks that are more picky. I ended up giving my wife the extra bacon and it was fine.
So, really, if you can stand the wait time, even with putting in an online order ahead of time, and can stand with a few mistakes here and there, it's not a bad choice. Most of the employees there are really great with great attitudes. And, also, it's a Wendy's. I personally like it, I love the fries, and it's really nice that you can get baked potatoes at a fast food place, and they are generally decent potatoes with the addition of butter, sour cream and salt/pepper. Their chicken sandwiches are generally really good, too. I loved the mozzarella one so much, even though it was probably really bad for me, and I'm very sad that it's gone. Not literally sad, but you know what I mean. The ghost pepper one was pretty tasty, at least.
Also, bonus points for having...

Upon picking up the order I was told that the payment didn’t go through which was not accurate according to my bank app. I was then told I needed to pay again and that if both charges went through that I would get a refund upon returning. Me not wanting to argue in the moment I went along. The first crew was pleasant.
Day 2 I return for the refund, different crew. Very disorganized and multiple upset people in the lobby with one guy yelling at them as I walked in. I was told to wait for the refund because they were busy but that I would be helped. 10 mins go by and I politely ask if the manager can help me for my refund quickly, I was told no because they were busy and the manager could not leave the window. I decided to then pull through the drive thru and explained the issue and was told I was to handle that in the lobby which I pointed out that I had already tried that, 30 seconds of me showing them the charges and the app receipt and I was told the money would be waiting in the lobby when I pulled around. I guess I should have just used the drive thru to begin with?
Before resorting to having to return, I opted to try a refund through app support, they said I had to return to the store for it. A chargeback on my card would have taken days and was a last resort.
Moral of the story, just go get food...
