TLDR: employee didnāt wash her hands between taking cash and handling food, and she laughed, rolled her eyes & walked away when we (politely) pointed this out and asked her to remake 1 baby-size sundae.
Detailed version: I noticed that the employee didnāt wash her hands or use a glove between taking our cash and scooping the ice cream. I sat down with my family and watched her serve the next group of customers just to be sure, and again she took cash, and then grabbed a waffle cone with her bare hands before scooping their ice cream. When she was free, my dad politely said āmiss, could you remake this? I noticed you didnāt use a glove or wash your handsā. She looked at my dad and I like we were crazy, laughed and said āI donāt know what I can do about that,ā and my dad said ācan you make another one?ā She refused and repeated that she couldnāt do anything about it, rolled her eyes & walked away. Now, Iām not usually the ātalk to your manager type,ā but come on. This is a very basic public health issue. I talked to her supervisor Julie, and to Julieās credit, she did seem to take what I said seriously. I didnāt ask her to remake the ice cream or refund our money and Julie didnāt offer to.
Iām sorry to leave a negative review for a small business, especially since the employee seemed very young- but youāve got to wonder why someone with that much contempt & ignorance for basic hygiene is working at an ice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was the best ice cream shop! It had that warm small town feel (notice pictures of the owner's father creating their beautiful wood counter and the antique ice cream scoops). There was a wait but my fresh waffle cone and ice cream was soooooo worth it. So many flavors, even and amazing sorbet that wasnt too sweet. I recommend seeing inspiration point, the marsh and the Arcadia dunes trails and treating yourself to this place. And the price was just right. Roughly what I would spend at graeter's or coldstone but with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA nice little place for ice cream between Manistee and Frankfort. The place has a lot of charm. Inside is decorated with antique signs and an old gas pump. Has a feel of stepping back in time to the 60's.
They have a large variety of Ice Cream, with some unique flavors. Plus plenty of other options. I ordered a chocolate shake from Hard ice cream. It was very good. Honestly it wasn't in top 10 or anything. That being said if your hungry for ice cream I recommend stopping here.
Overall a 4 star review. Would I return?...
