Tried to have dinner at Dry Gulch tonight. Took 45 minutes to be seated after she said I’ll seat you in 10 minutes. No worries, was happy to be there. The waitress came to get our drink order 10 minutes after we sat. Another table of 2 and table of 5 were seated, ordered drinks and were served when our server with only our table came to get our drink order of water and lemonade, we ordered fried zucchini at the same time. 20 minutes later the water and pink lemonade came to the table. We saw our waitress 10 minutes following and asked about the zucchini and if we can order. She said she would check and 8 mins later the zucchini came and we ordered our burger and the prime rib special. We waited and watched the 2 top and the 5 top and a 6 top all be served their dinner, bread, refills and they’re getting to go boxes. We look for our waitress as the zucchini is done for 30 minutes now. We have no drink refills and no bread. She comes out with 4 salads, drops one on the table and we ask if we will may get some bread and she said I don’t have enough hands. 9 minutes later she comes out w bread. She doesn’t talk to us and walks away. The tables around us are enjoying desert, 4 other tables are now seated, they have between 4-6 per table and they are being served their meals. The waitress comes to another table and we asked her over - asked about our food. She said she would check. Comes out 1 minute later and sets the burger and steak down. I cut into the burger(well done as I requested) and the burger was cold. Literally not warm any longer, physically cold to touch. We took a bite and the burger inside and out was completely cold. I tried a fry(it’s got to be ok, right?!) and it was super crispy and cold. The prime rib was warm, not hot and extremely undercooked - came near raw and was ordered medium. 15 mins later the waitress came back and I gave her my plate completely full of all the food the way it came less a bite and let them know it was cold and I cannot eat it. She said really? Ok and took it. She came back 30 minutes later!!!! Says we comped your whole meal ok? And sets the bill down. I look and she comped my WHOLE burger - I got charged for the 2 sides of ranch still though. Absolutely 0 apologies, 0 service. So as everyone on this page suggests we nicely asked to speak to a manager, she said owner I said yes that would be great. The owner came and said “well?” Explained the burger was cold and completely inedible. That we arrived and were seated before all of the tables here, by anywhere from 30-45 minutes prior and they are served. She said “No your burger wasn’t cold! We tested it! And it’s Friday night! Those people were here before you! The kitchen is busy and the way the tickets go in, your food was fine we don’t know what your problem is! It’s Friday, you should expect this”. Shocked at the lack of service, the absolute horrible response. Absolutely will never go back and will be sure to let everyone know when they get their welcome kit where to avoid at any and all costs. — at Dry...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Dry Gulch after having lived in the area for over 12 years and hearing over and over how great it was.
When we arrived we were immediately enamored by the decor and the old West, cowboy feel of the place. We were seated in a cozy alcove that offered a bit of privacy but unfortunately was a little noisey due to its proximity to the the server station. Not something to really complain about just an observation.
We both ordered the ribeye (my favorite cut) she got the smaller one and I got the larger (more costly) cut. When our food arrived it looked good and we began to eat. As I was eating my steak I tried to like it but I just wasn't pleased. I had ordered it as rare as they would cook it and it was dry, over cooked and pretty flavorless. I asked my wife how hers was and she said it was great. I tried a piece and you know what?... it was. Her cut was very good. Moist, tender and delicious. I sat there wondering how they could have messed up my cut so bad. When I flipped my piece over I could see why. The cook (I won't use the word chef here) had cut slices into the bottom of the steak. No doubt to help it cook faster but this had dried out and destroyed my meal. I left unhappy.
Will we go back? Probably, if the wife wants to, but I sure won't be spending the extra money for the larger cut...of that...
Read moreWent for our anniversary dinner tonight and will not be returning. Servers waited on the 2 large groups in the dining area where we were seated and pretty much ignored us. The ribeye they brought out to me was tough, full of grissel and undercooked. Neither my husband nor I could cut through it. They offered to cook it a bit more. I asked if that would make it tender...didnt think it would. The server said "you got the ribeye right, sometimes they can be a bit tough" Are they kidding, since when does a steskhouse serve tough steaks? Anyway, after about 5 minutes they brought back the baked potato I had started to eat...i had to go to the waitress station to hunt her down and ask if she could warm up the potato and serve it with the steak. The second steak was served on a cold plate..and I mean COLD plate, the plate felt like it came out of the freezer. I spoke with the manager as we have always enjoyed our meals at Dry Gulch. Other than her recognizing us as repeat customers and saying g she would speak to the cook, she did nothing. All we wanted for our anniversary dinner was a nice meal...didn't happen, very disappointed and they lost our business. If I could give a minus 5 rating J would. This evening we got poor service, a steak that will be give.to our dogs and a manager that...
