Unsui Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Prescott

Incredible food, best Japanese restaurant in which we've ever eaten. Our daughter and son-in-law are " foodies" who live North of us, in FLAGSTAFF, and they said the Japanese food here is better than at any place in Flag.....The sushi fresh with great selection and MANY unique to this restaurant.....the Japanese curry is exactly the taste I remembered from trips to Japan, and all the tempura dishes are done with such a light hand, using RICE flour for the coating. Eat this tempura,and then that from any other American place will seem heavy and pasty! From sukiyaki with the separate fresh egg, to the choice of seaweed vs. seaweed with thinly-sliced cucumber--- everything is just terrific. This restaurant, under different management, didn't make it through COVID, and closed. It's now a one-Japanese-woman chef, owner, and staff manager. Saving to be able to re-open the tepanyaki tables -- there are 4. When the tiny young woman with the GREAT smile comes to your table and asks you "Everything good?" you're talking to E-Ri-Ka, the chef and owner. When we order for pickup, this is now the ONLY place from which we order. PS-- I'm totally serious. Not one PENNY or any other "Payola" or kickback in food or discounts is behind this review. To be honest the food was good just The service.Thd lady we dined in with us that took care of us would have her own options she would look to see if she liked you she would get you what wanted right of away but I had asked for water but she didn't even bring it and she tried avoiding me and my mom and sevring people other who got there after us and I never got my water but the lady with blonde hair she is a top tier waiter she was always going around asking people if there were good and needed refills or asked if wanted anything else she stopped by us 2 times asking if we needed something us we thought our waiter that dined us today was just busy and we gave her time and we didn't want to bug her but we saw the faces she made she did everything to avoid us and the waiter that wasn't dining us is who we gave the money to and once we were leaving our waiter finally showed uo just to take the bill and , And another thing is its liked dead in the atmosphere it goes quite out of nowhere every 5 minutes and maybe some claiming music would help so everyone can have a conversations without it going quite and so nobody can hear other people conversation and , also I really needed that water I was cramping really bad and I...

DO NOT EAT HERE. Should have canceled my to go order when I walked in and saw how filthy the resturaunt was. I so wanted to believe the food would be good I ignored the obvious signs. Dirty resturaunt and only two people there at dinner time. My spicy tuna roll had low grade tuna and there were bones in several pieces. My "crunchy" roll had zero crunch and the tempura shrimp tasted stale as if it had been fried hours, if not days early, refrigerated and then re heated. Both rolls came apart when I picked them up to eat them. The salmon sashimi was a low grade salmon and had that super fishy smell.

I really hate leaving this review but it would be worse if I didn't warn people considering this resturaunt. In reality the food and conditions of this place are so bad I don't see them staying open long. It is a good location and we need a good Sushi resturaunt in Prescott so I hope that when this place closes down, someone buys it and turns it into a legit sushi resturaunt.
