Went to gamestop today to utilize the warranty on ps5 controllers. We paid $10 in November of 2022 to be able to replace the controllers by November 2023 at no cost (unless we want to keep another year warranty for $10 more) when we went in the Associate proceeded to do the exchange, took our controllers out of the box and asked if anything was wrong THEN told us the warranty changed last month and they will no longer exchange for new but only used. Him and the Manager Matt were extremely rude to us when we questioned the new policy and why they couldn't honor the policy we paid for. They refused to do anything for us out of "fear of getting in trouble with corporate." It came to the point that another customer offered us $5 so we wouldn't be out as much, because he agreed they were in the wrong. Matt wound up walking out of the room while we were on the phone with corporate to make a phone call. He came back in with a huff and dragged his stool over to the controllers and picked a red controller and came back and exchanged our perfectly good red controller with a new one (without saying a word to us) and giving us a used black controller to replace our broken one. He then said we were being very rude and he was done with us. We hadn't done anything rude. We questioned the policy and called corporate which is what he said our only option was. When I asked if he could at least change the black one for a new one and we would just keep our red one he huffed off and left the associate (I think his name was alex) to deal with us. He gave us a new black one and our old red one and they were both done with us. I have never been a fan of game stop but the associate we had last year was super nice and convinced me to get the warranty bc it was so awesome. Matt is the epitome of why I don't like GameStop. The customer means nothing to them and I even paid for their pro membership (which I never used). I will never make the mistake of trying Game Stop again. They don't care about the customer at all. The corporate guy on the phone was slightly more helpful but was much more understanding of our frustration and told us they had a communication error that some people didn't get any correspondence about the policy change. It seems they should have made up for that mistake on their part. Worst customer service ever. I would give them zero...

I overheard one of the workers explain a sale to a man who walked in after me but he did not tell me when I walked in three minutes earlier. I inquired about a product and one of the employees acted like he was doing me a favor when he answered my questions. I decided against it due to that alone. This is a video game and toy store. It’s not that serious.
I said no to the pro membership awhile back and some dude in a mask got so aggressive when I said no and essentially called me an idiot. I went back to get a membership from a respectful employee. The one nice employee made up for the rude masked one. Wish I knew his name.
A nice older woman walked in while I was there in distress and asked whether they sold phone batteries. The workers said no and she asked if they knew a place that did. They said they did not. Verizon and Walmart both sell them and they are in the same shopping center. It’s not that hard to be helpful.
All that plastic is...
Read moreJust want to start of by saying, the employees were awesome and very helpful, the negative review has nothing to do with them. My issue is that this year I purchased a 70$ Xbox controller and paid extra for the insurance on the controller The controller stopped working within the time that was covered by the insurance, I return the controller only to be told that it can only be replaced with a pre owned (I bought it new) The pre owners controller I was provided was 20$ cheaper than the one I had insured To add insult to injury they also charged me an additional 11$ to re insure the new controller Unbelievable, sad that I can get better prices and service at the Walmart electronics department Not to mention you can get any console they have in store on Amazon for 100+$ cheaper, I’ll be surprised if they’re still...
