I was looking for Avelegmono Soup and Spanikopita which is Greek and not here. That is fine. Being a "meditteranean person myself; Firstly this is NOT authentic Greek food. It is "sort of" Lebanese, which is fine but misleading. Most importantly as a business owner on vacation from the east coast it is not ok to be SO abrupt and unfriendly to customers. First to the poor older gentleman who asked for a falafel sandwich and the owner who clearly has an impatient disposition was asking if he was picking up or ordering and had a scolding tone. Then to us the same thing. We said we would like 2 items and he clapped back are we picking up in same scolding manner, like he was surprised and did not want to deal directly with us. Strangest set up to me and clearly to other reviews I read. It was right in the middle of lunch and only a couple people so no rush. As to the food, chicken had not typical spice profile and yellow rice is bland. Tzaziki is supposed to be mint and cucumber, not dill. These are just honest reccomendations from one pro to another and hope will be received that way. Hope it is...
Read moreI’m sorry, but the food here just isn’t good… I’ve given this place (and its sister location in PV) multiple tries to get it right simply because I love Mediterranean cuisine and I want to support the local business, but a recent visit solidified my thoughts that this ain’t it. Expensive, low amounts of food, not very flavorful, and pretty dry. If you’re like me and love Mediterranean food, you’ll have to go to Phoenix still. Quality options I highly recommend include Green Corner in Mesa, Haji-Baba in Tempe, or Persian Room in Scottsdale. Unfortunately Prescott just doesn’t have anything similar to offer (yet). The staff here is nice though, so hopefully they can take criticism and improve things.
EDIT: I guess the staff isn't that nice after all. Looks like the owners have replied to my review with a short, condenscending, and insulting reply. I suppose they forget that "my" standards are the same standards as the rest of their paying customers. For this reason, I am lowering my...
Read moreREVIEW UPDATE!!! I ate here again recently and found a MOTH cooked in the meat juices and in my gyro sandwich. The quality and protocols of places now post COVID, clearly here as well, have declined so much that I am about to give up eating out all together. The cleanliness and standards have plummeted across the board. People just do not care anymore. I reached out and tried to handle this with the Google account holder to this business and he chose not to even address the issue and ignore me.
I love gyros and Greek food so much! I am so excited to have finally found it! Their menu boards are hard to read in store because the text is too small and then they have the menu taped to the window as well and that was hard to read as will. Some printed to go menus would be great to have for customers to look at. The gyro was full of meat and really tasty! The counter person could use a little pep in their step. I will be back, happy to have some variety...
