This was probably one of the most overrated restaurants I have been to in a ridiculously long time. I will start with the meal. I ordered the scallop special, a drink and dessert and the total after tax and tip (they included the tip since a table of 5) was $106. The picture below is what I got served and it was bland. It looks like a bigger serving as it is zoomed in but that is all on one half of the plate. The server who brought our plates out offered pepper, which thank goodness as it needed something. There was a jar of the pizza parmesan on the table, which helped a little. One of the other patrons at our table ordered a side of Alfredo sauce that we all ended up drenching our food in and it barely helped the lack of flavor. I am trying not to come across as snarky, but I wasted $$$ on something that I ended up not eating. And no, our waitress never came back to ask us how we liked our food after bringing the side of Alfredo sauce and before the check. I would say the quality/taste of food was right around fast food Italian (think Fazolis). Even the bread they brought out was cold and bland.
The service, was almost non existent. If it wasn't for the servers that brought our dishes I would say don't bother. The waitress was rude from the start. She was very short with her responses and her attitude came across as if we were bothering her. Even though we had a reservation for 630pm, it seemed like she was ready to go from the moment we sat down. We had to get clarity on the check as the receipt was handwritten and we could not decipher what was written down and the correct amounts to be paid. The waitress really didn't like that and actually took a breath and looked at us as if we were asking too much. I would think if you want to be paid correctly you would be more accommodating. Also, when paying the waitress said something along the lines of hope you enjoyed the evening and I said not really. And she didn't respond or question and to be honest I didn't want to be there any longer.
Only saving grace was the two young servers assisting that night. Should have known to question the restaurant as it was pretty dead on a Friday evening. I have no problem spending money at a restaurant were it is deserved and like supporting small businesses. This place definitely missed the spot and will never return. And it did not make the list of recommendations for out of towners that...
Read moreIf I could have given it less than one star I would have... because of the fact that the lady the owns the place is very rude very snotty very mouthy very opinionated, and she treats customers like dirt. If you dare to complain about something that is not the way you ordered it she get snotty and makes excuses for the reason why it was made the way it was. Example the dish that I ordered I had ordered one time before in it was delicious. So I ordered it again. However this time it add red pepper chili flakes in it and it was so hot get my mouth was swelling up inside and my lips. I asked to speak to the manager because the waitress didn't know what to do... I mean this is a no brainer right? So this matronly older woman comes up and I said are you the manager? She said "no I'm the owner!! What your problem?" Very calmly with my stolen lips and mouth, I Explained that I have ordered this dish before in it never had red pepper flakes in it now it does in its unbearably spicy and I showed her my mouth out with swelling up she told me "you could leave and please don't bother coming back!" Other customers heard her because she yelled at me. They told me I should go to the hospital in be checked by a doctor and Sue her. One of the guys that told me that was a lawyer from Phoenix he said he would never come back to the place because he overheard her speaking to us. The food is OK but I guess she goes through chefs quite often and they cook the food differently every single time and the lady that was next to us told us that she orders a few things all the time and they never taste the same there is no Consistency with the recipes. By the way, her excuse to me was that the guy was a new chef!!! She was sure to walk my party and I to the front door and slammed the door once we got out and told us to never come back. EXTREMELY over priced. Don't waste your time & money if you would like to enjoy your dinner with a nice atmosphere. I Just remembered what I ordered... it was linguine with...
Read moreGo spend your money at Salt or La Vie if you want a nice meal. This was a disappointing experience. I was pretty excited to take my wife there for her birthday and it was underwhelming to say the least. I paid about $100 all said and let's just say that I will never see that money again. It's the kind of place where they think they're a lot better than they really are. The staff looks down on you and dresses all in black to give this impression of a haute cuisine type of place. When I got my plate I had to laugh out loud though. For all that fuss and show the staff puts on, the food is laughable. My veal was very obviously frozen. I had a, and I kid you not, half pound of spinach on top of that, and a dry piece of store bought prosciutto on top of that and then about ten ladles of white sauce. They get a zero for plating. I really wish I had taken a picture. My veal was overcooked and the breading was soggy. The spinach was watery. The sauce was heavy and greasy. My wife had the shrimp "michael angelo" lol. That's how it's spelled, I'm not kidding. Her shrimp was way overcooked and the sauce was so so, although not as bad as mine. The kids got pizza and for the love of all that's holy please do not pay 10 dollars on the kids pizza. My kids wouldn't eat them. They're kids! How do you disappoint kids with pizza? The dough was store bought and the toppings just tasted weird. Can't really describe it. Almost like a 4 year old just decided to put everything on that pizza. Anyways, I take clients out often but I won't be going there anytime soon. This was a poor experience in every aspect. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because the squash ravioli they had for appetizer were decent, although I'm almost certain they're...
