Buying in store costs significantly more than an online pickup order, like $5, and that's not counting the extra discount you get online. That's just base prices.
I heard the calzones were amazing from my sister so she got me one to go. I was on the phone with her and heard her place the order correctly, and the guy even repeated it.
Well, come to try and eat it and it has NO SAUCE inside, like I'm sure you can see in the photo. Dry as a bone and does not taste good as a result. My sister's also barely had any sauce. At least it had some but what the heck? Also the ingredients and dough weren't any better than you'd get at a chain pizza place.
On top of that, the "Marinara" for dipping was very watery. I couldn't properly dip the calzone without making a mess. (Again you can probably see what I mean in the photo. Campbell's tomato soup is quite possibly thicker.) It also tastes weird. I can't place what's off but it doesn't taste like any pasta sauce or marinara I've ever had.
They had like one person running the store so I guess either it was too much for him, or maybe he was pissed about no tip and decided to mess up the food as a result. I know my sister doesn't tip counter service places. (Before COVID nobody did, and the fact every place asks for one now is crazy to me).
Apparently the place had no AC either.
I thought this was going to be a new favorite place, from the reviews and the calzone my sister got last time she was here, but I guess quality either went down or is inconsistent.
Whatever is going on I will not be back. I still can't get over no sauce in a calzone. Do they do this with pizzas too?
We don't have a lot of money right now so a place messing up food this bad is a real day ruined, since we only get restaurant food on special occasions.
We were supposed to be celebrating something for me today, and instead I won't even be finishing the rest of the thing, and am giving it to a friend who doesn't mind just about any foods. Bless him cause at least it won't go to waste this way. My sister feels awful too, because she's the one who suggested this place. It's not her...
Read moreIt's not a fancy place, and its pretty small but you can expect good pizza that's for dang sure. Me and my friend group went there and someone ordered a thin crust pizza, they said they liked it, while me and two other friends got the deep(?) or I guess 'chicago' style pizza. It came out in about 12 minutes for the thin crust and 20 or so for our deeps even though we ordered first so you know it takes some time to make a good pizza, and it was a good pizza (white cheddar, or maybe it was white parmesan?). It's gotta be the best pizza I have ever had, so all those other places, papa john's (recently had that), dominoes (friend works there and I have had it many times of course), and whatever, chicago pizza and grill do it great. My friend who had a slice of mine said the crust was 10/10, perfect softness, but I didn't really notice since you can't really taste the crust (I'd say that's a good thing) since you just taste the full flavor of the pizza, like seriously you are not losing out when you are eating this pizza. The soda machine also had 'original' sodas I think? I got the 'cream soda' and it tasted like maple syrup, not the soda syrup stuff, just ya know like pancakes, so I should have gone for the lemonade but whatever. It's a small place, the food is great, the atmosphere is well, small so ya know its hard to fit that bill and its off a corner over-looking the walmart parking lot so it is what you make of it, but come on, just go there already. Oh right, the cashier was a cool guy too, if you're dining for there then you wait and they bring it out to you. And just to reiterate, great pizza, you...
Read moreLet me just start this by saying this is my personal experience that I had today I ordered a pizza online through the app slice I received a notification stating that my order will be ready at 1:28 PM. I sent my spouse on his break to pick up the pizza only to be told the pizza wasn’t ready. I told him to ask for a refund only to be told that they are not able to provide a refund there because I guess it was done online so I contacted the slice app and chatted with an agent who told me that my spouse agreed to wait 10 minutes on The pizza well, the only reason why he went ahead and agreed is because he was told that he wasn’t able to get a refund for the pizza not being ready at 1:28 like the app said it would be the thing about all of this is,is principle!!!! don’t lie!! be truthful offer a inconvenience drink or something. No one has time to be lied to about a pizza when you just could have just reset the time on the app or notified me that it was gonna be late and I could have went up and picked it up versus him being late coming back from break. I don’t appreciate it. We will never order...
