So my husband comes home from work raving about some hamburger/hotdog drive thru that he had while on shift. He had gotten a hot dog, and said they were filling and good. So, I'm always up to trying new places. No matter how far. (Luckily, this place is not too far). One night we go and try a couple of things off their menu. A Chicago dog and bacon cheeseburger. With fries, of course. I was really wanting to try their coleslaw dog, but the owner had just taken it off the menu since it didn't sell too well. Regardless, this little drive thru did not disappoint. Their other 5 star reviews are valid. The hot dog itself is not one of those skimpy little guys. It's a quarter pounder. I may be wrong, but it's definitely not your regular sized dog. The relish, and all the fixings was put all together nicely. In my opinion, it's as close to a Chicago dog as you can get in Arlington. It's not gourmet food or anything like that, but it is that messy delicious food that you get that craving for. The bacon cheeseburger is just as good. Juicy and flavorful. And their crinkle fries had the perfect amount of crisp to them. This place has secured a spot on our list of places to eat. I love supporting small businesses, and suggest you give this place a try. Side note: the owner mentioned new items coming to the menu, and we're looking forward to...

Located in what can only be described as a roadside shack, the building itself feels neglected, with an exterior and interior that are both outdated and visibly worn. The overall atmosphere is uninviting, and cleanliness appears to be an afterthought—especially in the restroom, which was in filthy condition during our visit.
The food was equally underwhelming. The burgers appeared to be pre-frozen patties you could find at any bulk store like Sam’s or Costco—far from anything you'd call fresh or handcrafted. Despite a very simple order, the kitchen was unable to prepare a basic cheeseburger correctly. The wings were excessively salty, to the point of being nearly inedible.
What’s most frustrating is the pricing. For food of this low quality and execution, the prices are unusually high. It’s difficult to justify spending that kind of money when the experience, from cleanliness to flavor, falls so far below expectations.
In a city with so many great burger and wing options, it’s hard to recommend Almost Famous to anyone. There are far better places in Arlington offering cleaner environments, better service, and food that actually tastes fresh and...
Read moreWe came to Almost Famous several months ago after reading Facebook reviews, and now we visit regularly. Evidently, we visit regularly enough for the owner to know our names!
My favorites are the hamburger or the bacon cheeseburger, with a side of tator tots, while my husband gets the kraut hot dog or bacon cheeseburger. My burgers have always been cooked perfectly and topped with crunchy lettuce and chopped onions, and sometimes I’ll have sliced tomato on it. The meat has good flavor and the patty is thicker than I expected. The kraut dog is a steamed Nathan’s hot dog, covered liberally with sauerkraut. The crinkle-cut fries are crispy with tender insides, as are the tator tots.
At our last visit, Jeremy (owner) gave me a lemon pepper wing to sample, as he was deciding whether or not to add wings to his menu. It was fried just as I like it, crisp on the outside, juicy inside with a liberal dose of lemon pepper seasoning. Wings are now on his menu, so I will be getting those, as well.
The restaurant is very clean, with the salt, pepper, and ketchup in single serving packets. The drinks are serve-yourself, and I like the draft root beer best.
Almost Famous Burgers and Hot Dogs has become our favorite burger joint, and we recommend it to others. Support your local small business and...
