Driving by headed to a friends pool, the spirit moved me to stop at Wicked 3D Craft Barbecue. This turned out to be one of my better decisions in life. Nestled in the heart of Pantego Texas, this barbecue joint offers an unforgettable experience that combines proper pricing with top-tier quality.
First and foremost, the barbecue itself was exceptional. Each bite was a testament to the mastery of Texas-style smoking. The brisket was beautifully smoked, tender, and full of flavor, exactly as it should be. The perfectly smoked turkey was a juicy surprise under the most beautifully peppered crust. The jalapeño cheddar sausage blew me away! Had that perfect snap we look for and was truly stuffed with jalapeños and cheddar. I don’t think any other jalapeño cheddar sausage left my fingers cheesy like this one did. Each of the sides we chose (Mac and beans) complemented the meats perfectly. It's evident that the pit master here takes great pride in his craft.
What truly sets Wicked 3D apart, though, is the warmth and hospitality of the owner. From the moment I walked up to the food truck , I was greeted with a genuine smile and treated like a friend. The owner took the time to explain their prep and smoking process (I am coming back for that brisket burger) ensuring that every guest felt welcome and valued. (The free beer helped too)
As for the pricing, it's refreshingly fair considering the quality of food and service provided. You get generous portions of delicious barbecue without breaking the bank,(paid $27.06 for a 3 meats plate with 2 sides and was able to share with the wife). In my eyes making this the most accessible Texas bbq for both locals and travelers passing through looking for that bbq fix.
Overall, Wicked 3D Craft Barbecue exceeded all expectations. Whether you're a barbecue aficionado or simply passing through town, this place is a must-visit. The combination of proper pricing, top-tier Texas barbecue, and genuine hospitality makes it an absolute standout in the Lone Star State. I'll certainly be back for more, and you should definitely stop by if you...
Read moreHeard a lot about this place... decided to try.. it took a few tries of going during what is "business hours" and they weren't there.... it's a food truck I understand events and such...so just make sure they are there from their social media accounts.
To the food Burger- was really good. Of the best I have had in that area. I will be back for that alone....
2 meat plate- Brisket- very fatty for my taste buds. Possibly due to being given the wrong one. However if you prefer "Moist" to lean you would enjoy this. Sausage- was a bit greasy. The cheese inside was not for me.
We ordered and paid for Twinkies but did not check the boxes before we left since they weren't busy I didn't think about it. Once home we noticed they weren't in the boxes. Its too far to go back just for that so we didn't get to try them.
Beans- Ranch style- a different approach to the usual beans at BBQ places. Potato Salad- a little spice heavy pickle taste but wasn't bad... wasn't mushy like many can be. Updated*Bbq sauce- sweet had good flavor. Per response below the thicker seasoning is course pepper. I tried this alone without meat etc. I will try this again with meat to see if my thoughts change.
For the owner to reach out to ensure that satisfaction is met by his customers is amazing. I greatly appreciate the push for customer satisfaction. This is something, that has been lost throughout the years and is a rare gem to come across. I truly commend the effort made to make...
Read moreTerrible first time experience, sadly, we will not be coming back. The food was not fresh at all, it was as it had been sitting out for long or if it was from the day before and was badly reheated. If that is not the case then, then the quality here is terrible. Please stay away, save your money and stick to what you know. The brisket was the worst I've ever had. It was very tough, hard and chewy I couldn't even finish it. I was SO glad they have that odd “no double brisket” rule because I would have been even more upset if that was all I had got. To which though, I must add, the only “good” items were the sausage and the mac and cheese. They weren’t terrible they were alright but definitely not worth $24+tax. The ribs were just as bad, tough, hard and chewy! I wish they would have just told us the new batch of bqq was not ready and we would have gladly waited no problem or just left and come back when it was. If we would have known this was what we’d be receiving we would have been better off going to a chain bbq restaurant. It’s sad, because we really wanted to love this place. Seeing all the great google reviews, we were genuinely looking forward to making this place our new go-to bbq spot. Instead, it left us feeling frustrated and highly disappointed. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but for having spent $80 on food that was hardly edible, this one truly missed the mark. For the price and quality it just...
