Silver Scoop — Restaurant in Arlington

This was our first visit here. My family went to Silver Scoop tonight for an evening treat and had an “ok” visit. Nothing horrible happened, but it also wasn’t very welcoming. When we walked in there was no greeting. I don’t necessarily expect this grand hello when I open the door, but even as we walked up to the ice cream there was no interaction. It didn’t feel inviting. They also looked to be training the young gentleman but did so by hovering and mumbling criticisms rather than leading by example, it felt a bit awkward. One of the criticisms was that the scoops of ice cream we received were “too big of a scoop”. But honestly, given the price, we felt it was a decent/normal size scoop; comparable to other ice cream parlors. It’s not like it’s fancy “out of this world” ice cream.

I brought my six-year-old here for ice cream today, but unfortunately we couldn’t receive service. The hours posted on Google say that the shop closes at 6 PM. I’ve learned you can’t always trust those for any business, but the posted hours outside on the shop’s front door showed it was open until 5 PM. We parked in front of the door and my daughter and I got out of our car and started walking towards the door at 4:51. A young lady who was working in the shop raced over to the door and locked it nine minutes early, and then scurried back behind the counter to have a conversation with the other young lady working there. I’m sure she saw us outside. If you would like to ask your employees about this, the date of our visit was Saturday, January 4.
