Star Donuts — Restaurant in Arlington

COME HERE!! Star Donuts has always been amazing. The donuts are literally the best in town and made fresh EVERY morning. Star Donuts is a lovely place for children, as the owners and employees always make sure to engage, have specialty designed donuts, and offer treats to the kiddos who come in.

Not only that, the employees have great attitudes and greet people by name when they come in. I’ve never seen such a wonderful group of people with great drive, work ethic, care for customers, and general love/respect for the people around them. Heading into Star Donuts is ALWAYS a wonderful experience.

As Star Donuts is a much loved location in Arlington for donuts and breakfast items, during busy times the batches of food made can sell out quickly. Don't worry though, if Star Donuts is in-between batches, just ask how long until the next batch will be out! If you have large orders or need something specific, call 30 minutes in advance and they’ll set it aside for you!

I have been coming to Star Donuts for years, so I wanted to clarify some common misconceptions I’ve heard about this location:

1. That they “sell out” very early. Star Donuts is a popular spot! If you need something specific, call ahead to make sure they have your items when you get there. As Star Donuts ensures freshness and quality, making large amounts of food in the early morning would contradict that. If they don’t have something when you come in, they are most likely waiting for the dough to rise in the next batch before cooking!
2. I saw someone mentioned that their croissant sandwich didn’t have any egg in it, and they were upset that they weren’t told in advance. I’ve had that sandwich before, and it’s clearly labeled “Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich.” They have a different item called the “Ham, Egg, and Cheese Kolache.” They must have gotten the two items confused!
3. I also saw that someone had an issue with payment! I’ve been coming here since Star Donuts first opened, and I have NEVER had a problem with payment. Star Donuts has amazing ethics and morals.

Like I mentioned before, I’ve been coming here for a very long time. Edit: Quit going for quite a long time due to iffy selections and problems with service on occasions, but we tried again today, since it is closest to home and we were in a hurry. After paying for croissant sandwich and other items, got to destination only to discover there was not a single bit of egg of the ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Rude! Especially considering the price remained the same and we were not warned, there would be no egg. Will look elsewhere again for our breakfast treats.

Not open before twins go to work in the mornings, so we've mainly been here many weekends over the past few years. Like other reviewers mentioned, you have to arrive early to get a decent selection. Every time we have gone after 9:30 or so the selection is not that great, no idea why they stop making their selection so early unlike other donut shops. Who wants to get up early on a weekend?

This place had potential for some lifelong customers, man. I love a cake donut with white frosting and rainbow sprinkles, it takes me back to my childhood and makes everything in the world feel okay. I asked them if they could dip a plain cake and throw some sprinkles on there. The guy said "no they can't". You CAN you just didn't WANT to.
