The Liberty Tavern, nestled in Arlington, Virginia, offers a culinary experience that delights the taste buds, yet the overall impression is tarnished by noticeable cleanliness issues, particularly in the restroom facilities. My recent visit to this establishment revealed a stark contrast between the flavorful dishes and the disappointing state of cleanliness, leaving me with mixed feelings about the overall dining experience.
Commencing with the culinary aspect, The Liberty Tavern shines in its ability to deliver tasty and satisfying food. The menu, a delightful fusion of American cuisine with a touch of creativity, offers an array of dishes that cater to diverse palates. From appetizers to main courses, the flavors are well-balanced, and the presentation reflects an attention to detail that adds to the overall dining enjoyment. The culinary team at The Liberty Tavern deserves commendation for crafting a menu that stands out in the Arlington dining scene.
However, the positive gastronomic experience is overshadowed by significant cleanliness concerns, notably in the restroom facilities. The state of the toilets was, to put it frankly, disgusting. Maintaining clean and hygienic restrooms is fundamental for any dining establishment, and the evident lapses in this area detracted significantly from the overall impression of The Liberty Tavern. It is disheartening when an otherwise enjoyable dining experience is marred by the neglect of basic cleanliness standards.
The ambiance of The Liberty Tavern adds another layer to the dining experience. The interior is inviting, striking a balance between casual and refined, making it an ideal spot for various occasions. The warm and welcoming atmosphere contributes positively to the overall dining experience, creating an environment where patrons can savor their meals and enjoy the company of friends and family.
In conclusion, The Liberty Tavern in Arlington, VA, stands out for its delectable and well-crafted menu that caters to discerning palates. However, the establishment must urgently address the cleanliness issues, especially in the restroom facilities, to ensure that the overall experience aligns with the high standards set by the culinary offerings. Balancing the exceptional flavors with a commitment to cleanliness will undoubtedly elevate The Liberty Tavern to a more distinguished position within the local dining scene, providing patrons with a memorable and...

Nestled in the heart of Arlington, it’s easy to see why this neighborhood gem has been a go-to spot since 2007. Whether you’re here for happy hour or a full-blown dinner, this place delivers an experience you’ll want to relive. My recent visit didn’t disappoint. We kicked off the evening downstairs in the bar and lounge, which was buzzing with energy. While the ambiance was lively, we decided to move upstairs for a quieter dining experience—and wow, what a vibe shift! The upstairs dining room offered the perfect balance of elegance and coziness, ideal for unwinding with good company. We started with the summer pizza from their happy hour specials, and let me tell you, the combination of fresh, in-season toppings and that perfectly crisp crust made each bite unforgettable. My partner couldn’t stop raving about the chicken parm, which they swore was better than any they’d had at an Italian restaurant. I opted for the steak and fries, and the fries? Absolutely next level. The ranch dressing deserves a special shoutout—it was creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with everything on the plate. Our server, though seemingly new, was fantastic—attentive, kind, and eager to make sure our visit was top-notch. He even brought out Parmesan cheese and crushed red peppers for the pizza without us asking, which was such a thoughtful touch. While the veal stroganoff needed a little more punch in flavor, the overall quality of the food, the service, and the cozy ambiance upstairs made it clear why The Liberty Tavern is a local favorite. If you’re in Arlington, this spot is a must. And after a fulfilling meal, what better way to end the night than chilling with Pull Up DC? Whether you’re grabbing some of their finest offerings to enjoy at home or out with friends, Pull Up DC is the perfect way to keep the good vibes going. Dining at Liberty Tavern followed by a wind-down session with Pull Up DC? That’s how you...
Read moreIf you are ever in the Arlington Washington DC area please check out Liberty Tavern. They were amazing with my allergies(gluten and dairy) and took it so seriously. My burger came with the gf bun (no extra charge btw 🙌), but still had cheese on it. I alerted our server who promptly whisked it away and brought me back a separate (not-small and freaking delicious) side salad for me to eat while they had to remake the burger. Burger came out this time with just the bun and absolutely nothing else on it (and yet more ginormous side salad). I laughed and started eating it anyways and it was honestly the best tasting burger I've ever had, even plain (the gf bun was also perfectly toasted iykyk). Manager comes over and asks if they didn't put cheese on this time. I joke that they didn't take any chances and put nothing. He is very frustrated at this point and comes back with my lettuce/tomato/onion, and apologized again. Server comes back to make sure everything is good and tells me they're comping the burger because Manager was mortified that someone with an allergy might've had something that could've made them sick. As someone who has had less-than-stellar experiences with my allergies, I appreciated everything they did to make me feel like I wasn't a problem and to serve good food, which btw everyone we ate was amazing. Also I had zero reactions from the food. We sat in the lower level tavern area since it was that weird happy hour period before they serve dinner, had some great drinks and I loved the atmosphere. Our server noticed my husband watching a Lakers game on his phone, and put the game on a nearby TV for us (they bonded over Luka and Jokic since our server was from Serbia as well). If we're ever in the area again we'll definitely...
