Need Filipino baked goods & more? Then pamp yo' brakes, and head over to Pampanga's Bakery.
Many moons ago, I remember signage put up for Pampanga's Bakery over by the old Sports Authority (now Sprouts) on South & Pioneer. However, the place never opened. Not so many moons ago after that, once again, I saw signage put up for Pampanga' Bakery at this location. Being across the street from Seafood City, Goldilocks, Chowking & competing Filipino bakeries, Pampanga's Bakery secured a more primo spot to serve their target clientele.
Gathering reconnaissance on what to buy, I saw reviewers most often mentioned the turon & ube cheese rolls. I didn't need any more enticement as to what to get.
Turon- Think banana & jackfruit eggrolls. Yeah, they're greasy. Yeah, they're sweet. However, being thinner than traditionally made turon, Pampanga's turon has less guilt eating them! The price is currently 89 cents, which still is a good deal.
Ube cheese rolls- The piece de resistance. Cream cheese filled sweet rolls, topped with parmesan cheese. Not too sweet, with pillowy soft bread. These were absolutely DEE-LEESH-OOOS!!! A must get!
Service was good. The bakery is quaint, but the short line moved along. As of today, Pampanga's Bakery will be opening a restaurant next door. In addition to sweets & baked goods, Pampanga's also has savory dishes for sale on the counter & in the refrigerator/freezer (sisig, for example). Parking is via a small shared lot, with additional parking via street. I park by the adjacent 7-Eleven lot. Cash & card accepted.
I want to pamp, you up! Pampanga's Bakery is a fine & formidable Filipino bakery, more than capable of holding their own against the established Filipino bakery chains. The plastic tray of ube cheese rolls & turon in the kitchen is beckoning me to devour them. And, I shall! Oh,...
Read moreGreat baked goods, bad customer service. If they are going to be expanding. Expanding. Hopefully they bring in new and better Filipino staff. Obviously the ones they have now do not like their jobs and will bring you down. I live across the street from this place and this is the reason why I even go here, only because it's so close to my home. I came here today to purchase some baked goods for my grandma and cousin who lay in rest at the cemetery because it is their birthday... When I asked the lady in the register if I could have a plate she said, no she doesn't have any. When I was about to purchase my baked goods I saw some plates in the back and I asked if I could have two and she said I could only give you one... I explained to her that I am willing to pay and I wanted two and she gave me the meanest attitude out there even if I was a paying customer. The only reason why I asked for two plates is because even if my relatives are dead, I want their baked goods to be placed on top of plates and look presentable. I am human and Just because I am a Filipino American doesn't mean that you have to treat me like trash because I look like I'm not 100% Filipino and I don't understand your language which is funny because I completely understood everything they said!!! By the way...I'm a ER Nurse walking in looking like a homeless person because I literally woke up and wanted to go visit my relatives who passed... JUST FYI TO THE OWNER... IF YOU'RE GOING TO EXPAND AND WANT A BETTER BUSINESS MAKE SURE YOUR STAFF HAS BETTER ATTITUDE FOR NOT ONLY 100% FILIPINOS BUT FOR ALL RACES AND...
Read morePampanga’s Bakery, located in Artesia, California, is a true family treasure that brings traditional Filipino flavors to life. Its warm and welcoming atmosphere reflects the love and dedication of a family that has perfected its recipes with a unique touch.
One of their standout treats is the pineapple cream cheese bread, a delightful combination of sweetness and creaminess. Soft and slightly tropical, these breads are perfect for any time of day, and when you pop them in the toaster, they become absolutely irresistible! The aroma they release while warming fills the house with a comforting and mouthwatering scent.
Another must-try from this bakery is their turon made with plantains, a Filipino classic they’ve mastered. Crispy on the outside and sweet and flavorful on the inside, these turon are a favorite in our family. Every bite is pure joy and brings us closer together—we absolutely love them!
The bakery is also spotless, well-organized, and staffed by friendly people who make every visit a pleasant experience. Pampanga’s Bakery isn’t just a place to buy bread; it’s a spot...
