If I could give zero stars for the front desk experience, I would. I donât normally write reviews, but after what I witnessed and experienced today, itâs necessary.
Let me start by saying that Dr. Alex and a team member named Angie were absolute lifesavers. Their kindness and professionalism deserve recognitionâbut unfortunately, their efforts were nearly ruined by Thelma, the front receptionist, whose behavior was not only disrespectful and cold, but completely inappropriate for someone in a customer-facing position.
From the moment I walked in, Thelma had no sense of welcome, no eye contact, and zero enthusiasm. She spoke to the person ahead of me in a curt, dismissive tone, and when it came time to speak with me, I was met with the same rude, unbothered attitudeâas if I was an inconvenience for simply being there.
Her tone was condescending, her body language unprofessional, and she made no effort to offer clarity, empathy, or even basic courtesy. I left the front desk feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and genuinely shocked that this is the standard Petco allows.
If Thelma is the first impression your clients get when seeking care for their pets, you are setting the bar dangerously low. Pet owners come in worried, often emotional, and needing support. Thelma offered none of thatâjust dismissiveness and a bad attitude.
It honestly makes me question Petcoâs hiring practices, training, and even the values the company claims to uphold. Is this really who you trust to represent your brand?
The only reason Iâm not walking away entirely from this location is because of the professionalism shown by Dr. Alex and Angie. They salvaged the situation and reminded me of what good service should look like.
But Thelma should not be allowed to represent Petco in any capacity that involves customer interaction. She is a liability to your reputation and a clear reflection of what happens when standards are ignored.
Do better. And please, for the sake of your loyal customers and their petsâretrain or reassign this employee before she drives more...
Read moreI wanted to like this clinic however my experience was unacceptable both times interacting with the staff. My pet's information was entered incorrectly during our first visit and instead of correcting the information, the receptionist blamed me for the mistake. The receptionist at that time said just to call to have the information corrected because she could not be bothered to correct the information while I was there. I tried calling the office for 2 whole weeks and I could not get in touch with anyone in the office. I left voicemails, I emailed the manager directly, I tried calling the store directly and no one was able to help me over the phone. No one associated with Petco or the clinic provided any support, assistance or any information any of the multiple times that I called the store. I had to take time off during my weekend to go into the store/clinic and ask someone for assistance with correcting my pet's information since she was out of her flea medication. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, even though the veterinarian is a great doctor that has seen my dog many times in the past at a different location. This clinic is terrible, the administrative staff seems to be annoyed and is not willing to help or take accountability for their work. They fail to understand that for some families their pets are family members and it's important that they treat the animals that they see with respect...
Read moreTook my little Shih Tzu dog to the grooming Sunday morning 9 AM Christine M was the one to give her a cut didnât get a call so I went to the groomer salon around 12:30 PM. I heard my dog whimper right when I walked in.. My husband went to go check on her he said they were still working on her cutting her nails then we go to register to check out and thatâs when they attempt to speak to us at the register saying that my dog was cut âminor âthat they will take her to a vet due to store policy..We didnât get our dog back till 7:30 PM that evening.William the store manager was very helpful and updated us throughout the day. However, the lady that cut my dogs hair, I feel was very Rough and did a horrible job on her hair just for the simple fact that my dog had no more hair left on her body to even cut and she was still chopping away when we got there at 12:30 PM that day. Be careful with who you booked your pet with, and I know accidents happen however, letâs try not to make accidents happen when they can be avoided. They sent my dog home with a cone and a bandage now sheâs on antibiotics and the cut is still very much exposed. Some thing we have to continue working on. Hopefully it doesnât get infected. Be careful with...
