Bua Thai — Restaurant in Ashburn

Just Bah… ordered food to be delivered at 11:15, from their website that gave me an estimate of 45 minutes. I’m at work, so I can’t have my phone right in my hand I’m attending patients. My phone start buzzing ,it’s 11:36, 3 missed calls, but no messages or voicemails, so I called back the guy on the other line is super irritated I can’t even understand what he is trying to say. He start with: H: halo Me: halo you called me, why? H: you order food! Me: oh yeah, what to you need? H: you order food, order number?! Me: I don’t know my order number I can look for it, one sec H: halo? Come outside, in front of the building! Me: oh you here, ok I’m coming Outside Me: sorry they told me 45 minutes I wasn’t expecting so fast H: next time then I’ll make you wait 45 minutes! And drove off I am speechless. Speechless. 😐 By the way the food was not even worth all this, order the drunken noodles with shrimps, they gave me 2! Shrimps. Not 4 not 5 but 2! With other seafood stuff that was bleah and I didn’t even ask for it. And the Thai dumplings were hard and kinda dry. Not good, not good. Bua Thai, wow words cannot adequately express the level of disappointment with this spot. Maybe in another time pre Covid this place was a spot to come to, maybe in that time service was actually on time and the food was actually hot. While I am dreaming maybe in that time before Covid the staff concerned themselves with the satisfaction of their paying customers. Ah but these are all fantastical musings of a time that most definitely is not now. To start off, slow and rude staff, warm to lukewarm food, flavorless and uninspired food, not worth the exaggerated prices for the less than subpar experience. Because believe me it is an experience, just not a pleasant one. There are way too many Thai restaurants to chose from where the behavior of this one places it clearly at the bottom of that ring. Avoid this place and take your money somewhere that it will be respected and...

Regarding the food- Bua Thai remains a consistent Thai restaurant in the area with delicious noodle dishes. I often order the drunken noodles, bikini shrimp, or pad Thai and the ingredients always taste fresh! The drunken noodles aren’t too soft or sweet, they’re very well seasoned and much more reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Delivery is relatively consistent as well.

Regarding the service- The decor is very comforting and inviting. Usually there’s a very kind man who takes our order and checks up on us. However, today was an exception. Our waitress gave us dirty looks several times and seemed more frustrated as our lunch went on. She took my friend’s card and my phone, and then asked me across the room to give her the phone’s password. It was a very uncomfortable experience for both me...
