The four stars is mostly for the friendly staff and the food is good. Inconsistency seems to be the motto of this restaurant however and it is disappointing. I order the exact same thing every time I call to pick up food, and every single time it is different. Sometimes it's the price- Last weekend it was over $7 for two pork tacos, this weekend it was $4.50, other times it's $6.50. Sometimes I get a small cup of veggies for the taco, other times I just get two tacos with the meat choice only. Today I receive two flour tortillas instead of corn the first time, next to no meat, lettuce, and cheese. I don't eat cheese and have come to expect this is something I don't have to ask to be left off as it never comes on the tacos, until today. Guys, your menu is way too big, and as a result nothing gets made the same way twice because you're not all on the same page. Figure out what your top ten best sellers are, get rid of the rest. Having a several page menu of items that are all basically the same makes it confusing for everyone involved and slows your table turns, costing you money. I'll be back, but it's going to be a while now. The convenience store just down the street has arguably better tacos and they come out the same every...
Read moreWe were overwhelmed by so much in our first visit to El Robozo Mexican Restaurant last night!
Look past the strip mall location (if you want to pay more for your dinner, I’m sure you’d be sitting in a larger, stand-alone building). We were warmly welcomed at the door and shown to a booth (there were three of us). Our drink order was taken right away, followed by a bowl of warm nacho chips (really different from the usual chips), house salsa, and water.
One of our company is gluten-free, so she had a lengthy conversation with Nancy (our server) about what options she could have. Nancy even knew that an enchilada green sauce might have a little wheat in it. She suggested the tomato base sauce, with a side of tomatillo salsa for her to try.
I had the taco salad which was just the right size and balance of ingredients. The enchilada plates that the other two in our party had were large—and they both enjoyed them immensely. At the end of our dinner, a man who was either the owner or manager came out and helped pick up our dishes—he was delightful to talk with.
We will DEFINITELY be returning to El Rebozo—and I hope that, while I wanted to praise such an excellent restaurant, my words don’t make it...
Read moreI read a lot of the reviews for this restaurant and they all seemed to be good, so my family tried it yesterday. However, I WILL NOT be taking my family back there again. First, they sat us at a booth next to a window that had no shade with the sun just beaming down on us. Very hot and uncomfortable! It took about 30 minutes to get our food to us after ordering (some reviews indicated fast service. They weren't even that busy). My husband's meal was so hot, it was like microwave hot (makes us wonder! If I wanted microwave food, I would've stayed home!!!). I ordered fish tacos. The fish was NOT seasoned and the only thing they brought with it was Pico de Gallo. There was no sauce or cheese or even a salad that I could add to my tacos; very bland. My son's meal was good, so that was part of the 2 stars I indicated as part of my review. The other star was for the service. They were good and checked on us several times. The worst part is today and how we all feel. I won't go into gory details, but we won't be back to eat there again!!!!!!
ADDENDUM (2 days after eating here): STAY AWAY from this restaurant. It gave my whole family food...
